AIBU to think the foul language and vulgar tone of these threads is just too much

During the last few days the foul language, just a quick skim through the AIBU headings reveals such awful words, has been such that I don't think I will be coming back again too often. Mumsnet - Middle Class - Parenting orientated - really, is it really? Vulgar, nasty, ill mannered, spring more easily to mind. What a shame.

As you have probably read, many people think the same. I think the moderation bar has been lowered a lot. I made a complaint about a parent referring to her children as "little fuckers" only to get a reply that although they agreed it is "poor taste", it is difficult to draw the line as people consider different things offensive. That seems to be quite a weak response! I am probably a bit more like you, but like alot of people have been saying, most of the other threads are not as "vulgar"

WhipMeIndiana · 16/06/2011 22:08

pearls need to be dry cleaned certainly never wet-wiped

UrsulaBuffay · 16/06/2011 22:19

I am on a mission to discuss famous men's cocks on every thread I am on.

WhipMeIndiana · 16/06/2011 22:22

yes, but on another thread some cow ruined Jenssen Button's cock for me by posting up some unflattering unitard pics, and no doubt cackled the whole time she was destroying my fantasies

UrsulaBuffay · 16/06/2011 22:24

I have no idea who that might be

Omigawd · 16/06/2011 23:05

@Brian its not what Vagabond says, that was as appalling as anyone else - worse really - but the turns of phrase are inspired. How can you not like:

'Frankly, most of you belong on a gypsy wedding type show'

'the horrendous under-belly of British society'

'you are the next person in the papers that we'll read about who's been 'glassed" in the face at a pub.'

'I'd love to see you 'cunting and fucking' at the school gate'

'wanting to climb up the totem pole of naughty behaviour'

I am in awe :)

Omigawd · 16/06/2011 23:10

I searched MN for Peter Andre's cock as you lot told me you'd all done it, but couldn't see it :o

CheerfulYank · 16/06/2011 23:29

Who the jeff is Peter Andre and why are we concerned with his cock?

WelliesinJune · 16/06/2011 23:37

I agree. Some posts are so vile and malicious. There have been a lot of posts on here recently about how mumsnet has changed over the years - I remember finding it when I was ttc and it was the mist fantastic source of support. Now it's all "off you fuck" etc. Vile. But there are still a lot of decent people on here. Maybe not as many as before and people are more ready to be aggressive over nothing in the name of being honest/being a strong woman etc etc, but I just feel sorry for those people who have so much anger in them. Can't be doing their kids any good - whatever they say about separating Internet/RL, if you are that angry it's a part of you.

sausagesandmarmelade · 17/06/2011 07:22

haha...great name wellies!

and agree with your comment completely....

Vagabond's one (further back) was also brilliant..and, in my opinion summed up completely those who swear for the sake of it.

sausagesandmarmelade · 17/06/2011 07:25

Of course, the rest piled in and tried to write as many swear words as they could in one post. It's like a mob mentality. I loathe bullying and that's primarily what I objected to. I don't mind effective swearing but I dislike swearing for the sake of wanting to climb up the totem pole of naughty behaviour because you think it's coooool. To me, you're dishonest and a bunch of anonymous cowards trying to get in with the in-crowd of your virtual friends.

Excerpt from vagabond's brilliant comment earlier...which totally sums it up

Omigawd · 17/06/2011 09:47

@sausages to be fair, Vagabond saud some far more appalling stuff than any of the other cunts laydees, its just she did it without swearing.

sausagesandmarmelade · 17/06/2011 09:52

Which goes to show....if you have a genuine gripe, you don't need to swear...and swearing is what this thread is all about - after all

Omigawd · 17/06/2011 10:04

@sausages - exactly - this is a fucking sweary thread, so witty incisive insults were totally inapproriate :o

SherlockMoans · 17/06/2011 11:08

Trust me there is no social bar below which you pee in public - I have seen "ladies" in their regatta finery peeing down a lane outside where I worked Hmm

Pumpernickel10 · 17/06/2011 15:46

I once pee'd on a bus when I was about 17,it trickled all down the stairs too as I was on the top deck,I was a real scutter in those days

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 17/06/2011 15:57
