AIBU to think the foul language and vulgar tone of these threads is just too much

During the last few days the foul language, just a quick skim through the AIBU headings reveals such awful words, has been such that I don't think I will be coming back again too often. Mumsnet - Middle Class - Parenting orientated - really, is it really? Vulgar, nasty, ill mannered, spring more easily to mind. What a shame.

It's not the moon. It's not your periods. It's people, who I had previously thought to have some sense, behaving like bullies and you just can't see it can you?

My question is: Do you all swear like this in real life? Do your sisters, best friends, husbands, mothers, fathers etc.. know that you have these false, super-macho personalities on Mumsnet? Would you be proud to show them what you wrote on Mumsnet? I doubt it. You all sound like shrew-like tobacco chewers.

Frankly, I think most of the women on AIBU with their ridiculous goats and their anti-middle class (whatever that is) rants are a parody of themselves.

Why don't you think about how your kids would think of you if they could see what you actually wrote behind your hidden identities. It's all very well to be brave behind a nickname here on Mumsnet but I doubt that you're calling fellow mums at the school gate the names you chuck about here to other mums, other women. It's actually rather disgusting.

Frankly, most of you belong on a gypsy wedding type show.

I'm not having a go at oncemai. She's perfectly entitled to express her opinions and I respect her for them. But I happen to think differently so have chosen to relax and be profane.

I agree with OP. I have only recently started looking at this site and I am pretty disgusted with the foul language on here. How many of you would walk into a room full of strangers and talk like that? Why is it OK to do it on here?

Well I certainly don't say anything on here that I wouldn't say in RL. Admittedly I am a potty mouthed old bint, but anyone who knows me would be able to tell you that my posts are me whether I be typing them on MN or standing in the same room as whoever.

yup, am equally as foul-mouthed and opinionated in RL. often read out threads and my replies to my DS and DH.

I don't say anything on here that I wouldn't say in RL either. Generally I try not to say anything that needs to be qualified with 'it's a laugh' to avoid being interpreted as aggressive and unpleasant.

Why do some of you not see the difference between posting 'it's a cunting disgrace' etc and 'you're a twat faced eejit'?

I love a good swear so don't have any issue with all the swearing on MN. But I'd run off if twat and cunt were directed personally at me.
