AIBU to think the foul language and vulgar tone of these threads is just too much

onceamai · 15/06/2011 20:03

During the last few days the foul language, just a quick skim through the AIBU headings reveals such awful words, has been such that I don't think I will be coming back again too often. Mumsnet - Middle Class - Parenting orientated - really, is it really? Vulgar, nasty, ill mannered, spring more easily to mind. What a shame.

OP posts:
Northernlurker · 15/06/2011 20:56

It's not the moon. It's not your periods. It's people, who I had previously thought to have some sense, behaving like bullies and you just can't see it can you?

Vagabond · 15/06/2011 20:59

Why would anyone tell the OP to fuck off and swear at her. Do you realise how offensive you are?

My question is: Do you all swear like this in real life? Do your sisters, best friends, husbands, mothers, fathers etc.. know that you have these false, super-macho personalities on Mumsnet? Would you be proud to show them what you wrote on Mumsnet? I doubt it. You all sound like shrew-like tobacco chewers.

Frankly, I think most of the women on AIBU with their ridiculous goats and their anti-middle class (whatever that is) rants are a parody of themselves.

Why don't you think about how your kids would think of you if they could see what you actually wrote behind your hidden identities. It's all very well to be brave behind a nickname here on Mumsnet but I doubt that you're calling fellow mums at the school gate the names you chuck about here to other mums, other women. It's actually rather disgusting.

Frankly, most of you belong on a gypsy wedding type show.

And yes, I know, donuts and fuck-offs are to come. I just want to know if you'd share what you say on Mumsnet with your RL friends. Be brave enough to answer THAT question and maybe I'll have some respect for you.

Pandemoniaa · 15/06/2011 20:59

I'm not having a go at oncemai. She's perfectly entitled to express her opinions and I respect her for them. But I happen to think differently so have chosen to relax and be profane.

Hullygully · 15/06/2011 21:00

Vagabond I do feel you have rather undermined your own argument with the reference to gypsy weddings there...

runningonmt · 15/06/2011 21:00

JanMorrow Sorry mum Sad

UrsulaBuffay · 15/06/2011 21:01

It's a biscuit.

Hullygully · 15/06/2011 21:01

AND to be fair, I do think people were just having a larf and got carried away. Tweren't malicious as it sometimes is.

Not that I did it myself, you'll notice.

K999 · 15/06/2011 21:01

Vaga ..they're not donuts, they're biscuits you fuckwit Grin

Hullygully · 15/06/2011 21:02

And there was no need to insult our goats. They haven't done anything. Except eat other people's washing and ponce off the state.

usualsuspect · 15/06/2011 21:02

I never told the op to fuck off .and yes I do swear in rl

I'm really not middle class though ,so maybe my opinion doesn't count

Hullygully · 15/06/2011 21:03

You're a scumbag and you can't have any goats, usual.

bubaluchy · 15/06/2011 21:03

this isn't real life its just a laugh stop being party poopers and go back to the virtual moral high ground

K999 · 15/06/2011 21:03

Vaga, the way I speak on MN is the same way I speak in RL....

UrsulaBuffay · 15/06/2011 21:04

Sense of humour failure then. Irony anyone? No? Alanis, come one innit ironic? Don'tchathink?

amagypsybullyingracistapparently

Pumpernickel10 · 15/06/2011 21:04

I swear like this in real life as I'm trash. Trailer park cunning trash and if your nice to be vagabond you can borrow my White heels with dog shit on the heels. I is class respect!

sodthelotofyou · 15/06/2011 21:04

I agree with OP. I have only recently started looking at this site and I am pretty disgusted with the foul language on here. How many of you would walk into a room full of strangers and talk like that? Why is it OK to do it on here?

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 15/06/2011 21:04

Well I certainly don't say anything on here that I wouldn't say in RL. Admittedly I am a potty mouthed old bint, but anyone who knows me would be able to tell you that my posts are me whether I be typing them on MN or standing in the same room as whoever.

I will call some one a fucking whatever cunt if they so deserve it. Internet forum or not.

runningonmt · 15/06/2011 21:05

Sorry onceamai Sad
Sorry northernlurker Sad

AuntieMonica · 15/06/2011 21:06

Grin

yup, am equally as foul-mouthed and opinionated in RL. often read out threads and my replies to my DS and DH.

hope that clears that up for you

SuePurblybilt · 15/06/2011 21:06

Is this what they really do at gypsy weddings then? Swear on the internet and discuss ruminants? No wonder they had to make shit up for that telly programme.

QuintessentialShadow · 15/06/2011 21:07

onceamai isnt a newbie.

You are successfully proving her right!

But I suppose that is the point?

Hmm
Pumpernickel10 · 15/06/2011 21:07

Those goats are in my yard hully shitting the place up can I bag it up and sell it vagabond it will do her roses good :) if she won't buy it I'll just load the fecking lot in her front lawn

beanlet · 15/06/2011 21:07

I'm worried about the lil bubbas now. And my manshape.

Northernlurker · 15/06/2011 21:08

I don't say anything on here that I wouldn't say in RL either. Generally I try not to say anything that needs to be qualified with 'it's a laugh' to avoid being interpreted as aggressive and unpleasant.

OvO · 15/06/2011 21:11

Why do some of you not see the difference between posting 'it's a cunting disgrace' etc and 'you're a twat faced eejit'?

I love a good swear so don't have any issue with all the swearing on MN. But I'd run off if twat and cunt were directed personally at me.
