AIBU to think the foul language and vulgar tone of these threads is just too much

During the last few days the foul language, just a quick skim through the AIBU headings reveals such awful words, has been such that I don't think I will be coming back again too often. Mumsnet - Middle Class - Parenting orientated - really, is it really? Vulgar, nasty, ill mannered, spring more easily to mind. What a shame.

Oh hully.

TheLadyEvenstar · 16/06/2011 15:50

Pag they are soooooo immature with their swearing!!!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/06/2011 15:50

Oh god, I'd love a pie-chart of cuntishness if only I knew how to do one.
Would it literally feature only usage of the word cunt and associated words, or is it one pie chart for all sweary words? I'd be quite interested in the proportion of, say, cunts to fucks, or twats to wankers.

Pagwatch · 16/06/2011 15:52

I knew you wouldn't join in TLE.

We know who the ringleaders are I think.

Some people should have a good long think about how they are behaving young lady.....(and other phrases from my childhood)

SherlockMoans · 16/06/2011 15:54

Im not middle class, nor am I vulgar...when either get on my nerves I just go elsewhere. What you have to remember on here is we cant see each other - some of the people you converse with on here you may possibly cross the road to avoid in RL Grin

I dont feel I have the right to tell anyone how they should talk I also dont take kindly to anyone telling me my grammar, humour, opinions are not valid...thay may not be the same as yours but that makes them no less valid.

There are going to be a proportion of people on here who just have no social ability, they have no friends in RL and thats why they are here so often, there will also be a proportion of just out and out nutters. I just think the same as RL take it with a pinch of salt and move on, dont socialise in RL or online with anyone who makes you feel small or just plain makes your skin crawl...much easier to ignore people on here Wink

OvO · 16/06/2011 16:12

Cunt has been used 499 times (not including deletions of course) since the first of June. Grin

I have to go put or I'd check that against the numbers of fucks etc.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/06/2011 16:13

OvO, that's fascinating and a brilliant start to the Mumsnet cuntery pie-chart system (TM) ...

SherlockMoans · 16/06/2011 16:22

I dont like the C word...I just assume that anyone who uses it is not "my kind of person" and cross the "virtual" road and let them get on with it without me.

A random f word for effect can be funny occasionally but overuse for the sake of it as my gran used to say "is not big or clever"

Primalscream · 16/06/2011 16:29

Oh I agree prolific posters have no RL friends or much of a life - that's why I have 2 names - conceals my loser status a bit

TheLadyEvenstar · 16/06/2011 16:30

Pag, you are right we do know the ring leaders - shocking behaviour!!! Wink

Pumpernickel10 · 16/06/2011 16:33

I have no real life primal that's where the fuck I've been going wrong all these years. MN as filled the gap no one else can, I am it's number one crazy fruit loon fan :) as for friends I have to stalk them so be careful primal as I'll be your number 1 fan deary flower

nicespam · 16/06/2011 16:53

but surely a successful forum would take everyone's views into account - mn used to be like this and self-regulate itself. only a matter of time before it's moderated i bet with some posters now.

BupcakesandCunting · 16/06/2011 16:59

I admit to having no friends.

During the day. Being the only one in my group with a child, my RL friends are free to swan about at work and the like during daylight hours. That's why I hang around here like an unwanted fart during the day. :)

Primalscream · 16/06/2011 17:05

Ha ha p10 - stop watching misery and you'll be ok!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/06/2011 17:06

And I've got no friends at work so instead of hanging round the watercooler I sit here typing away and looking as if I'm busy doing my job. Little do they know. Mwahahaahaaahaaa.

we're discussing this on Moldies and we agree that the tone has been substantially lowered on Mumsnet since we left. We're glad we bequeathed Mumsnet to you but we knew as we left that we were saying "there goes the neighbourhood" and this is proving that we were right.

BupcakesandCunting · 16/06/2011 18:37

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Priceless.
