I have 2 cats and an elderly neighbour. I have noticed that our side passage is littered with cat poo but my young ds told me today that he saw *** (our neighbour) throwing poo over the fence into our garden and that he thought it was disgusting. There are several cats in the area. What do you think about that?

Cats crap in my garden, it really annoys me. I haven't flung any of it over my neighbour's fence because a) I like them and I like their cat so it would feel a bit OTT and b) a few cats come into our garden so I couldn't prove it was their cat. I have caught their cat crapping in my flowerbeds a few times though, so in all likelihood it is usually their cat.

On principle though, I don't think a cat owner can complain about being given back what their cat has left next door. No, you can't be expected to follow a cat round clearing up after it, but nor can you expect everyone to love the fact your cat shits in their garden and happily clean up after it.

Get a cat.

rainbowinthesky · 29/07/2011 14:26

I honestly do not understand why some cat owners object to having their cats poo returned to them.

Journey · 29/07/2011 14:41

Totally agree rainbowinthesky. Why should non-cat owners have to clean up the mess of other people's pets?

Mitmoo · 29/07/2011 15:59

I think your neighbour is rightly hacked off at other people's cats crapping in their garden. I am a cat lover and have three but I wouldn't blame my neighbours if they got pissed off because they had to clear up my cats mess.

Mitmoo · 29/07/2011 16:01

May I just say PEE OFF.

That feels better, it is a plant that has a proper name but garden centres do know it as Pee Off, cats hate it and will stay off your garden OP you might like to buy one for your neighbour I am sure they'd appreciate it and stop flinging poo.

nice"

I think YAB (a bit) U. I hope though the elderly neighbour looks frist before flinging the poo, you wouldn't like it slung right in your eyeball

fishtankneedscleaning · 29/07/2011 18:37

If you choose to keep cats then you should be the one to clear its shit up. I think your neighbour is well within his/her rights to fling your cats mess over your garden for you to deal with.

I don't want to deal with animal faeces on any level. That is why I don't have pets. Any animal faeces found on my lawn will be delivered straight to the animal owner who thought it a good idea to keep an animal in the first place.

If you don't want to clean up after your pet - DONT HAVE ONE!

PelvicFloorOfSteel · 29/07/2011 19:23

kelfergus do you have a litter tray so you can be certain it's not your cat's shit which is causing all the problems?
