Shocked with the blatant racism on Mumnet lately

Name changed for this

Of late I've been come so shocked at the bullying and racism on this site.
Latest two that have since been deleted taking the piss out of gypsies.
So what if a user is either a gypsy, Jewish, asian it doesn't give you the right to belittle. I read the posts lastnight regarding one user and about her being a gypsy. It's attitudes like this that starts persecution. The nazis did this they persecuted millions of jews, handicapped, gypsies. I am utterly shocked and disaapointed at how you so called adults act it's nothing sort of playground bullying. Who on earth would want to join here with that attitude??????

It is an absolute truism that any discussion about racism ends up in people exposing the very worst of themselves.

i made a comment which was not meant with racist intent. did you need 2 call me a cunt? i imagine your not so bold in person.
i could sear back and call you names back that would be stupid because this is an internet forum and you dont know me and i couldnt give a fuck what you think.

Maybells - hope you don't mind me asking - who's using the family braincell tonight? Do you think they might let you have a go with it?

maybells, if you are really concerned about not appearing racist then I suggest you keep your trap shut or read through the many threads that discuss racism and try and work it out for yourself.

I wasn;t enamoured by the gypsy threads although I think it was probbaly more more personal nastiness than intentional racism (not that I hung around after reading more than a few posts)

MN has had a rash of disablism lately (thread in site stuff) so whilst I can;t recall seeing any racist posts I would not be amazed sadly and it is never OK

Handicapped bit of an outdated term btw: disabled, special needs, additonal needs all OK.
