Name changed for this

Of late I've been come so shocked at the bullying and racism on this site.
Latest two that have since been deleted taking the piss out of gypsies.
So what if a user is either a gypsy, Jewish, asian it doesn't give you the right to belittle. I read the posts lastnight regarding one user and about her being a gypsy. It's attitudes like this that starts persecution. The nazis did this they persecuted millions of jews, handicapped, gypsies. I am utterly shocked and disaapointed at how you so called adults act it's nothing sort of playground bullying. Who on earth would want to join here with that attitude??????

Haven't read the threads you're talking about. There's a fair amount of racism on MN, mostly because there's a fair amount of racism in real life. But generally it gets shouted down by other posters, which restores faith and all that... just confront it as it comes up.

The problem is the same few posters constantly challenge it but are met with a stream of fuckwits who support the racism evey single time.

scurryfunge · 11/06/2011 21:52

maybells, don't be a fool.

passivelyaggresive · 11/06/2011 21:52

I think if people post overtly racist posts then their membership should be revoked - simple as that. Racism is illegal after all, so whilst MNHQ dont want to be coming down heavy with censorship, they would be well within their rights, and even their duty, to do this.

LiverpoolLeap · 11/06/2011 21:52

And along comes a fuckwit to prove the OP's point...

Just the one exclamation mark is generally enough- multiples can make you look a bit rabid, tbh. And I don't think the OP is worth getting too het up over as she doesn't sound genuine anyway.

scurryfunge · 11/06/2011 21:53

Passively, you are right and those posts are easy to spot. It is the casual racism that is just as harmful.

its not a racist comment! its an opion that 2 many drag religion in2 things when there is no need!!!!

passivelyaggresive · 11/06/2011 21:56

scurry, i know what you mean - i think that if underhand racist comments are suspected then posters should receive a warning. Really, its a shame that it has to come to that, we are all supposed to be adults here. Most of us with children who we are wanting to set a good example for!

maybells · 11/06/2011 21:57

a fuckwit cunt? hmmm yes u have really upset me because ur a person sitting on ur pc who i dnt know yes im really bothered!

BitOfFun · 11/06/2011 21:58

In the interests of accessibility on this site, MN recommends that you avoid text speak too, as it makes it hard for some users who use audio software to 'read' posts.
