WHY WHY WHY???

Did I ever go and have a nosy at the Schuh website? I'm nearing the end of my mat leave, all the spare money I have is being saved for car insurance and repairs and now I've seen the most gorgeous pair of shoes ever..well since the last most gorgeous pair I saw anyway...and they're even in the sale [sobs].

So please tell me that I can't have them because I can't afford them, they're completely impractical, I'll never be able to walk in them, I have nothing (except my wedding dress) that will match them and I can hardly walk around in that all day, and I already have too many pairs of shoes that I don't wear because I can't walk in them or have nothing that goes with them!!!

Oh mai gawd! Your dress is BEAUTIFUL! You have got to buy these shoes or I will be starting up a MN collection. They would look perfect. :)

iamaLeafontheWind · 01/06/2011 23:15

Endo don't get me started on the '41 is an 8' debate, I've mentally composed many an AIBU thread about it but thought it was just me!!!

IgnoringTheChildren · 01/06/2011 23:16

I can see your dress Smile but I can't get the picture of the shoes back to check how well they match! Have MNers crashed the site or is it down because it's past bedtime?

Buy them!

Sqee · 01/06/2011 23:16

(btw you face is anything but stupid and I quite like DHs hair!)

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 01/06/2011 23:24

aww Sqee Blush you're too kind Wink

nothingnatural · 01/06/2011 23:25

Oh God, those shoes are vile.

Don't do it, for the love of God, just don't do it.

Sqee · 01/06/2011 23:33

A suggestion for all the mean people calling the shoes ugly. Go on, you will just love how ordinary they are!

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 01/06/2011 23:39

I would rather walk around in these again than wear those monstrosities!

SmethwickBelle · 01/06/2011 23:48

I think the shoes would indeed go a treat with your dress however if you have to abstain this may make you feel better; I have a pair of Irregular Choice shoes (green high heel with frog detail, much more restrained than they sound) and pretty as they are - they wreck my feet! Just so uncomfortable, as if they're made of stiff card not leather.

If you have a IC collection already and/or are determined to buy them then ignore me. Wink

Honeydragon · 01/06/2011 23:49

Squee do not get me started on those Toms things! WTF are they meant to be....bleurgh.

Sqee · 02/06/2011 00:01

Slippers you can wear outside me thinks. I would rather wear my own Hedwig slippers than those horrible things!

Tell me this Honeydragon Is that really Terry Pratchett in your photos? and if so did he ask you to lift up your top? (Regarding your baby ofcorse..Ahem)

AprilRose · 02/06/2011 00:21

Buy them!

I love love love Irregular Choice shoes - have a pair of black wedges with pink roses around the 'edges' (if shoes have edges...) and I love them. They're really comfy too.

Now you've linked me to Schuh, I don't think I'll manage to escape without a purchase (although a dog ate my work shoes, so I have good reason to buy a 'sensible' pair of shoes...)

Honeydragon · 02/06/2011 00:31

Squee

I forgot that photo was on there Blush, no that is not Mr Prattchett (whom I've met very briefly and found utterly charming). It's Gryff Rhys Jones, with no hair as was doing Oliver.

He came to our local bookstore and was terribly understanding of the fact that I was much more enamoured with his lovely dog Cadbury. And gracious enough to sign the book I was purchasing for my DFiL, from Cadbury too. Grin

Orbinator · 02/06/2011 00:57

I like the cunning plan here OP, but I will not be seduced into "making" you buy them. Your OH will not have me to blame, oh no! Wink

RottenTiming · 02/06/2011 03:35

Scary shoes !

Are you Helena Bonham Carter ?

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 02/06/2011 03:51

Ok, I'm up for it.

You can't have them because you can't afford them, they're completely impractical, you'll never be able to walk in them, you have nothing (except your wedding dress) that will match them and you can hardly walk around in that all day, and you already have too many pairs of shoes that you don't wear because you can't walk in them or have nothing that goes with them!!!

If you want to look like the Corpse Bride, go for it.

If you want to drive legally, forget it.

Sometimes life is reduced to choices. Your choice.

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 02/06/2011 03:53

Save your money - wait for the next collection 'cos it will only get better.

snailoon · 02/06/2011 04:21

They are hideous! But then, I think anything that looks uncomfortable looks hideous.

IWouldNotCouldNotWithAGoat · 02/06/2011 04:23

Wow, they're really horrible. Sorry!

thumbwitch · 02/06/2011 04:38

I can see the attraction but would not buy them because a) they're pink/magenta and b) I'd never be able to wear them anywhere.
Unless you're planning on wearing your wedding dress at every available opportunity and need matching shoes, I wouldn't bother.
The white ones look ok for wedding shoes, I think but in general they're too OTT for me.

The boots are hideous though, sorry!

I like some outlandish footwear but not really those - too much.
Sqee - those Toms are vile.

cushionyet · 02/06/2011 08:20

They look like the kind of shoes that the women dressed like Victorian hookers would have worn on My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding... I'm not surprised they're in the sale really.

yoshiLunk · 02/06/2011 08:22

Speaking as someone who does have unusual taste in shoes, - they are horrid. I think it's the colouring and lace, they look hooker-ish, in fact 1888 WhiteChapel hooker-ish.
