WHY WHY WHY???

Did I ever go and have a nosy at the Schuh website? I'm nearing the end of my mat leave, all the spare money I have is being saved for car insurance and repairs and now I've seen the most gorgeous pair of shoes ever..well since the last most gorgeous pair I saw anyway...and they're even in the sale [sobs].

So please tell me that I can't have them because I can't afford them, they're completely impractical, I'll never be able to walk in them, I have nothing (except my wedding dress) that will match them and I can hardly walk around in that all day, and I already have too many pairs of shoes that I don't wear because I can't walk in them or have nothing that goes with them!!!

Sorry but they are truly, hideously chavvy!

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 01/06/2011 22:34

I only had a look to see if I could find some sensible flat shoes that aren't trainers and I ended up having to buy some ridiculous but beautiful shoes I may never wear outside....now I need to practice my inconspicous whistling for when dh notices.

They're ugly, ugly shoes.

Save your money. They're not worth it.

Numberfour · 01/06/2011 22:35

Don't be daft. The shoes are bloody hideous.

YABU

iamaLeafontheWind · 01/06/2011 22:39

I've been saved from spending many monies on Irregular Choice because they don't do my size (IC - would it kill you to stretch to a 42?)

And they are so NOT chavvy!

Goblinchild · 01/06/2011 22:39

They really called a line of shoes 'cortesan'?
I think they are hideous, but if you love them and they'd make you happy, I'd buy them.
Going back to work after maternity leave is horrible, and I always try and treat myself if I have to do something challenging. Although my treats tend to run to a chocolate bar or a book.

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 01/06/2011 22:41

And despite the protests of those of you who don't like my taste in shoes [sulks and pouts] I'm also inexplicably drawn to these so I may ask dh for them for Christmas Grin

BootyMum · 01/06/2011 22:44

Are these shoes for real or is this a joke thread???

Both pairs of shoes linked on this are absolutely bloody awful.

Truly hideous.

What on earth would you wear with them?

BootyMum · 01/06/2011 22:46

Oh my God, the cat ankle boots...

If I don't get these does this make me officially middle-aged?

Grin

BootyMum Grin I think a cloak would match the cat boots nicely don't you? [imagines swishing cloak dramatically as I walk out of rooms in fabulous cat boots]

They are hideous. Don't buy them if you have no money, they definately aren't worth it.

LordOfTheFlies · 01/06/2011 22:53

Shinymooninapurplesky
-so they match your wedding dress?
I wore my wedding dress as the base to a gothic corpse bride costume last hallowe'en.
These would look fab.Buy them, wear them now then when they get scruffy, you've got your hallowe'en costume sorted!Grin

IgnoringTheChildren · 01/06/2011 22:54

Well they are completely impractical, look like they'll be ridiculously uncomfortable and are unlikely to go with anything... however when I was on mat leave I fell in love with a pair of boots - didn't buy them as I couldn't justify the price or owning another pair of boots that I wouldn't be wearing very often as they're a little high for when you've got a baby in a sling. I was rewarded for my martyrdom when I found them in my size reduced to less than half price in the sale and I still love those boots 3 years later. Grin

I also fell in love with a ridiculously impractical but beautifully stripey Ted Baker bag (which was odd as I hate most Ted Baker bags) and didn't buy that either. It didn't appear in the John Lewis sale and I still regret not buying it now (and spend large amounts of time trawling through ebay in the hope of spotting one there). Sad

If you love them, buy them but they are a bit hideous. Wink

Pearlyjangles · 01/06/2011 22:54

Great shoes but seriously, your wedding dress matches them?

Did you get married in the style of moulin rouge?

Portofino · 01/06/2011 22:55

They are fecking hideous!

Sqee · 01/06/2011 22:59

Oh get them! They are beautiful! and I've just sent the link to the ankle boots to DP as a big suggestion for a birthday present!

Honestly spoil yourself. After all you did grow a whole human being inside you for nine months. :o

EndoplasmicReticulum · 01/06/2011 23:03

LeafontheWind - I'm a 42 too. Which is an 8 in "proper" shoe shops, but apparently a 9 in fashiony type shoe shops like Schuh, which means none of them fit me and I save money.

The cat ones are not very nice. I can think of better things to spend £100 on.

shuckleberryfinn · 01/06/2011 23:03

fuck that, I wanna see your wedding dress! it has to be hellishly funky to wear with those! Buy the shoes man, wear entire ensemble for 2 weeks straight I say

shuckleberryfinn · 01/06/2011 23:04

oh, just to contextualise I have two repeatedly broken weak assed ankles and a wardrobe full of barely worn sexy shoes that I take out and sniff now and then (and 2 well worn pairs of flats).

Sqee · 01/06/2011 23:04

Here! Here! Shuckle

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 01/06/2011 23:05

Alas I couldn't make dh wear a top hat Pearlyjangles Grin or else who knows where my absent sense of style would have taken us...

And how right you are Sqee!

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 01/06/2011 23:07

Oh fine I'll but a picture on my profile now...warning you in advance to please ignore my stupid face and dh's awful hair!
