It is "secret filming" in hospitals or care homes People being illtreated (It has hads a lotof press publicity already) And will probably get a lot more.

Having worked for a whole week in the care industry looking after adults with learning difficulties, the ill treatment doesn't surprise me. I left because of the staff I worked with. The majority weren't nice.
Nik, really? Point me to that thread (I have triplets - you know me elsewhere ;o))

But yeah, I used to be a home carer (in the days long before I was a despicable benefits scrounger, when I was a student) and I used to treat my clients as I would expect to be treated myself. I do know though due to the families talking to me that wasn't always the case. Some clients had bruises where they'd been roughly handled.

The low pay is the key here. Minimum wage does not encourage workers of a higher calibre to apply. I did domiciliary care, and one worker used to take the service users for a regular 5 minute walk just to have a fag. She also meal planned with chips every single night. The main one I worked with was a bully, and hated that I stood up to her.

Thing is though it was a long time ago, not like now when there are plenty looking for work.
With no evidence they couldn't sack her. Open secret though.
I'd also do calls and find that the 'housework call' (that's how long ago it was) had made zero difference to the cleanliness of the house... funny that anyone would think the carer hadn't bothered.
