Was just on UK hot deals and a link of Ann Summers came up. I clicked on it as it had 75% off. Started browsing and came across school uniforms. Why on earth would a grown adult want to dress as a school girl. It's morally wrong to me. I know I'm am being very unreasonable but needed to rant about it.

How ridiculous, people are are too quick to shout paedophile at the slightest thing. School uniforms have been sexy dress up wear for years and do not mean that men want to have sex with actual underage girls. It's more the flash back to their school days when sex was an unknown and impossibly exciting and unattainable thing. Equally most men don't hang around hospitals waiting to pounce on nurses.

School uniform doesn't necessarily mean child.

In the St Trinians films, for example (old and new) the girls in "sexy" outfits are all in sixth form. 17 and 18.

I've been to school disco type clubs years ago. The guys we used to go with wore shorts and school caps It was more for a laugh than there being anything 'sexy' about it in our case.

I wouldn't fancy dressing up as a schoolgirl for a partner, but nor would I dress up as a French maid, nurse or Princess Leia..in fact I've never dressed up for any kind of role play thing.

This is probably why I'm single!

st trinian's film couldn't legally have been seen to sexualise underage children. in reality though, most people wearing a school uniform are under the age of consent.

The whole school uniform thing - remember the "older girls" at St Trinian's I mean that was made in the 50s. It's not new by a long chalk. The reason there is a "sexy schoolgirl" thing is because lots of men think schoolgirls are sexy. It's not complicated. That's why it's in the psyche of people around the world. School uniform = schoolgirl = sexy. Really it is as simple as that.

I've always found this a bit creepy too - although strangely enough it seems to be seen as acceptable when you see how 'mainstream' it is (ie in pop videos, costumes, etc...).

i think there is an element of that in it aswell bran (and otehr that have mentioned this aspect of the attraction), but sadly i dont think it is the only reason it is so popular. and the other, reasons make the whole thing feel creepy to me.

I don't know how many men there are on the thread but it's safe to assume that most of us were schoolgirls at some point.

And so most of us know that some/many men find schoolgirls attractive.

If lots of men don't find teenage girls attractive then why did the sun bother doing that thing of a girl was going to go topless on her 16th birthday, why is there so much "barely legal" porn out there?

I mean, I don't think that individual men & women who act this out or go to school disco nights are deliberately buying into these tendencies.

But I do think that the reason for this being in the psyche around the world in the first place is as straightforward as that.

but girls can be at school until their 18? sex with men is legal from 16. Don't see the problem with men ogling women in school uniforms. It doesnt mean they are a kiddy fiddler.

YABU Nothing illegal is going on, and no children are involved then its all fine. Its all a bit naughty and a bit of role play fun, does not mean that people want to have sexual relations between real school children .

Most of us were school kids once and are reliving school days in erm a different way

I still have my old school uniform, but would not fit into it as I was a size 10 then and a 14 now

but those girls that are in school between 16-18 can also have jobs, why is it the uniform that is sexy? as someone else said it's the taboo aspect of it. and the reason it is taboo is because school uniforms represent underage children. if it was the 16-18 year old aspect that was sexy then there would be other triggers, the uniform itself wouldn't be sexy because it isn't just worn by 16-18 year old girls. it is worn from 4/5 right up til 17/18.

So on this thread we are pretending that 13/14/15 year old girls in school uniform are highly unlikely to have it expressed to them by any men in any way that they are attractive?

DH long ago when he was DP went to a couple of fancy dress discos in my school uniform. Nothing sexual it was just easy and free.
Given we now have a teenage daughter I'd find it berry odd if he wanted me to play the school girl.

I think of this as a very British fetish- and one that's been around for a long time. Certainly made its way into the early Rumpole stories, but I reckon it's older than that.
