In thinking people that don't keep their body hair under control are weird ?

I've seen topics on here about it and really have trouble understanding why anyone would want hairy legs or even worse hairy armpits and a crotch like a badly kept privet ?

YABU. Humans are mammals. Mammals have hair. Get over it.

MamaLazarou · 25/05/2011 13:49

OP, why don't you shave your head if you find hair so disgusting?

ChippingIn · 25/05/2011 13:53
luvvinlife · 25/05/2011 13:54

Its not about conforming, its about comfort, and yes, I insist DH keeps himself in reasonable order. Isn't it odd that topics about keeping hair go unchallenged yet this one has been pounced on.

OP posts:
BOMgoneoff · 25/05/2011 13:54

I personally couldn't have hairly legs or crotch or armpits because I prefer the feel of no hair. However, I wouldn't judge luvinlife as it is the natural state to be in, it's only society that has women conform to the idea that less hair is better.

I suppose to understand it might be to understand that people are effected at different levels by social pressures.

GypsyMoth · 25/05/2011 13:55

you 'insist' he keeps himself in reasonable order?????????? Hmm

CravingExcitement · 25/05/2011 13:55

Op, it's understandable that you want to wax if your pubes are like a "badly kept privet" if you don't. Normal women just have hair. Although I have every sympathy for you, tbh it does sound a bit weird.

TheCrackFox · 25/05/2011 13:55

This is getting a bit dull now.

BooyHoo · 25/05/2011 13:55

what topics about keeping hairare you talking about? link please.

BooyHoo · 25/05/2011 13:56

and why the hell do you get to decide how much or little body hair your DH has? if it is about comfort then surely it is up to him. makes me think it is about conforming after all. you have tripped yourself up a bit tehre me thinks.

Ooopsadaisy · 25/05/2011 13:57

singersgirl - DP is quite hairy actually. He trims his pits/chest and crotch because he finds it more comfortable. I prefer it too.

As I said, I don't judge anyone for their choices in this. The fact that I see it on others and don't like it doesn't mean I judge them - I just don't particularly like to see it.

I'm sure I do/don't do things that others find Hmm & that's fine.

The only natural body hair I find unpleasant is that which I have removed from myself.

If that makes me weird then ok - there's plenty more that makes me weird, trust me! Grin

Primalscream · 25/05/2011 13:59

I don't like hairy armpits or legs - but couldn't care less about the areas (I can't see those ) - it's personal choice isn't it - plus, more hair does not = better feminist, and vice versa.

MooMooFarm · 25/05/2011 14:01

The reason it's been pounced on OP is because of the provocative title to your thread - did you not think people may be offended by being labelled wierd? Confused.

Personally I find your keen interest in other people's hairy bits a bit wierd.

luvvinlife · 25/05/2011 14:01

Bomgoneoff, you just said you do it because you prefer it then said women did it to conform to society. Cake and eat it.

OP posts:
luvvinlife · 25/05/2011 14:02

MooMooFarm, it is prefixed with AIBU.

OP posts:
BooyHoo · 25/05/2011 14:03

luvvinlife why aren't you answering anyone's questions?

wooden spoon anyone??

Camerondiazepam · 25/05/2011 14:04

YABU and you know it.

luvvinlife · 25/05/2011 14:05

BooyHoo, what question have you asked me ? All you have done is insulted.

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 25/05/2011 14:05

Well, then, yes, YABU. And silly. And sticking your nose, figuratively, at least I hope not literally into places it doesn't belong.

How I groom or don't groom my pubic region, legs and arm pits is absolutely none of your business.

Morloth · 25/05/2011 14:05

I wonder where it started? Come on someone on here must know.

Surely it can't have been common before cheap razors?

MooMooFarm · 25/05/2011 14:06

Yes I know, as this is the AIBU thread Smile. But do you really think those people are wierd? Just seems to me like one of those threads where somebody intentionally starts a thread with a slightly offensive title, then feigns shock horror when people disagree and object.....

I'm off for a Brew

BooyHoo · 25/05/2011 14:07

where have i insulted?

"and why the hell do you get to decide how much or little body hair your DH has?"

BOMgoneoff · 25/05/2011 14:07

Before society decided women should have no hair, women didn't know what it felt like to have no hair. because of society i started shaving at about 13 and haven't looked back, I now find it more comfortable.

To be honest in my social circle, which includes a lot of feminists, I get more stick for conforming!

Some women will find it more comfortable not to have any body hair but the majority are following societies demands.

In my industry I simply couldn't turn up at a client mieeting with hairy legs and arm pits... that's quite sad.

aldiwhore · 25/05/2011 14:07

YABU.

I fall both sides of the fence/scraggly hedge. Sometimes I like a good buff and shine, other times I like to go feral.

You say its about comfort? I find letting everything grow out very comfortable. I personally don't like seeing stray pubes or being in close proximity to a very hairy armpit (male of female) but each to their own.

My legs are currently as hairy as they get (not much) my armpits are bald, and my nethers are, well, comfortable, but I'm not planning to parade in a bikini in this wind.

fifi25 · 25/05/2011 14:08

If i can be arsed i remove har, If i cant i leave it. Got a bit of a tash and the monobrows starting to show. Might do it tonight if the 3 kids permit me Grin
