Well...it all started when my old hag older collegue told us that she hasn't had sex for a while because since going through menopause she is "as dry as a nuns cunt"...I laughed and too be honest because of my childish sense of humour I have been sniggering all day...However another very annoyingsensitive collegue was horrified and has since grassed on reported the older one to our boss!!!
How mean is that? Too be as dry as a nuns cunt and then too get into trouble about it....what's with the world today? when did everyone become so sensitive?

I thinks its awful to report someone she was saying it about herself for gods sake

not somebody else that would be different

Mamaz0n · 25/05/2011 18:42

You sound delightful OP

HaughtyChuckle · 25/05/2011 18:43

"its a VILE expression"

was that aimed at mine?

takeonboard · 25/05/2011 18:45

I HATE the C word, but sniggered at that and wouldn't report anyone for using an offensive word unless they used it "at" someone IYSWIM

edam · 25/05/2011 18:47

Casey, why do you assume all feminists think exactly the same and all agree with your four statements? You have claimed feminists object to the word 'cunt' - lots of them don't. It's a fine old Ango-Saxon word, IIRC. Many want to reclaim the word. What many feminists do object to is the use of the word as an insult.

As people have explained, the really offensive thing about your pathetic 'joke' (which might amuse a Year 10 kid but surely not many grown-ups) is the idea that a woman who is not sexually available to men is somehow weird or unwomanly or lacking in some way. It's stupid, it's not true and it's sexist.

HugoFirst · 25/05/2011 19:04

ti the op
its a horrible thing to say

helenthemadex · 25/05/2011 19:09

what a vile vulguar thing to say, Im not religious and I swear like a trooper but dont think thats funny. I would cringe if I heard a collegue say it wouldnt report them though

mollymole · 25/05/2011 20:03

it's an awful thing to say - your colleague obviously has no respect for herself or her colleagues

Words don't offend me. The more "offensive" the funnier in my book. And I love the "c" word!

Though statistically, I am wondering how many Nuns are actually dry. I'm not willing to find out though.

LRDTheFeministDragon · 25/05/2011 20:33

I'm very fond of the word cunt.

I think it's a rude phrase, but then my cousin was a nun and so I don't see them as comedy characters from Sister Act or remnants from the middle ages, I know them as real people.

AnyFucker · 25/05/2011 20:37

yup, real people with Bartholin's glands

LRDTheFeministDragon · 25/05/2011 20:41
Grin

A great slogan, AF.

Borisneedsahaircut · 25/05/2011 20:41

Why are you wondering Chocolate? Very considerate of you to be so interested in their bits, maybe you should conduct a study into it ! Confused

chocolateyclur · 25/05/2011 20:54

...and that's why I was banned from the nunnery, m'lud.

maighdlin · 25/05/2011 20:56

a word is hardly going to hurt anyone. cunt is the same as bowl a four letter word. it all depends on context. e.g i could call DH a daft cunt when he does something, no offence just use of the word cunt in a rolling eyes slight snigger way. otoh he could do something stupid i could shout with deep hatred in my voice and call him a "complete spoon". Spoon is not an offensive word but in that context it is.

smokinaces · 25/05/2011 20:59

I used to work in media and there was a list of words that were forbidden on radio under any circumstances.

top of the list was mother - fucker
second was the c-word

so I beg to differ that its no different from any other word. I find it horrible to hear, and confess to switching off from whoever is speaking when they say it.

Borisneedsahaircut · 25/05/2011 21:56

Right so 'you Spoon' is offensive to you Maighdlin? Confused What if you were speaking to your child which would you chose to say?
Cunt is an offensive word in any context:
Oxford Dictionary ( if you are familiar with it) reads : Vulgar slang, A womans genitals.

Frizzbonce · 25/05/2011 22:48

I like: 'I'm so hungry I could eat a nun's arse through the bars of a convent gate.' Now THAT's funny.

Vicky2011 · 25/05/2011 23:04

Crude and not really appropriate in the workplace but hard to imagine someone reporting it, that really IS vindictive.

itisnotacompetitionyouknow · 25/05/2011 23:46

I was saying to a friend today how Mumsnet is far superior to the forum that shall not be named as the women here have a sense of humour. I may have to retract that.

Casey76 · 25/05/2011 23:50

Casey76 ignore the killjoys!

Lifes too short to be so serious about things, honestly!

itisnotacompetitionyouknow · 25/05/2011 23:56

Sorry I mean life's

Primalscream · 26/05/2011 08:22

Op; just so you know, if you start a thread in Aibu you're likely to get a few people telling you Yabu - that's how it works. If you don't want the attention don't ask for it - simple really.

Oh - and I'd go easy on the txt spk - there's no need for it on here. ( it makes you look common )
