Well...it all started when my old hag older collegue told us that she hasn't had sex for a while because since going through menopause she is "as dry as a nuns cunt"...I laughed and too be honest because of my childish sense of humour I have been sniggering all day...However another very annoyingsensitive collegue was horrified and has since grassed on reported the older one to our boss!!!
How mean is that? Too be as dry as a nuns cunt and then too get into trouble about it....what's with the world today? when did everyone become so sensitive?

The phrase makes me wince; I find nothing redeemable about it. But reporting it? That takes things to a whole new level.

dawntigga · 25/05/2011 08:30

Yes of course it is, let's all reduce women to objects that are there for one purpose only.

Not language I would expect or put up with in the workplace - I wouldn't report it if it was a one off but would have said something to the woman. If the language carried on then I would report it.

Primalscream · 25/05/2011 09:15

Yabu - it's not funny at all. - the 'C' word is still offensive to a lot of people and long may that continue - I find people who use this type of language and find this sort of thing funny slightly tragic.

I wouldn't have reported her though - that's a bit over the top

Casey76 · 25/05/2011 17:33

So to all you who are mightly offended/not amused....you have the C word..so much you cannot type it and you think that nuns cunts should not be up for ridicule..and it is nothing something you would want to hear ever because it is soooooooooooooooo offensive BUT you wouldn't report it!!!
Why not????

ScousyFogarty · 25/05/2011 17:41

it would offend half of the country. Its male adult talk

AnyFucker · 25/05/2011 17:45

I am not offended

I just think it is stupid

stupidity doesn't always offend me, sometimes I just feel icky

Fimbo · 25/05/2011 17:47

I hate the C word. Someone has written it using a stone right outside some houses opposite dd's school. It looks offensive, is offensive and if I had seen whoever did it, then I would have reported it.

PedigreeChump · 25/05/2011 17:50

I think its a vile thing to say and would have called up the colleague on it there and then.

Don't think there's anything wrong in reporting something so totally inappropriate for a workplace.

southeastastra · 25/05/2011 17:51

why would you want to say it ? minging

Peachy · 25/05/2011 18:00

Why would you discuss your vaginal excretions with a colleague Confused

probably wouldn't repott but yes pretty unfunny esp. from a feminist POV Standards and all that.

have worked in some - ahem- course p[alces (construction industry) but no, think that would be a bit OTT. For me anyway.

Peachy · 25/05/2011 18:02

Why wouldn;t I report it?

Because working in an atmosphere is a bloody nightmare. Bad enough when you have to report something (in my case working 1 to 1 alone with a much older man who kept describing sex acts and making me feel quite at risk).

Why would i generate that atmosphere without personal risk being invovled?

saidthespiderwithahorridsmile · 25/05/2011 18:02

porcamiseria my brother says the "sweating like a paedophile in a nursery" one as well

also "sweating like a whore in church"

and "sweating like a nigger on a rape charge"

guess he sweats a lot Hmm

Casey76 · 25/05/2011 18:03

If I have offended any feminist on here then I am extremely sorry....no, really I am..For feminists are always right and don't get offended by the most trivial things ever!!!

I hate the word cunt, I'm not partial to nuns either (though they do a lot of charity work and are basically alright - not the ones that take their sexual frustration out on small children with barbed sticks ofc) but the phrase wouldn't offend me enough to report it. I suppose it depends on the working environment.

I'd have chortled, even if I didn't like the words. I certainly wouldn't say it myself (because I'm not a nun, neither do I have a dry cee u enn tee - today anyway) but I most definitely wouldn't report it. How embarrassing for both parties, one is made to look crass (and was) the other is made to look like a petty prude (and is).

MainlyMaynie · 25/05/2011 18:05

Depends on the context, i.e. where you work. Building site= probably acceptable. Old people's home or indeed anywhere customer facing = inappropriate.

It's not amusing because it's not original, the only humour is based on saying cunt being big and clever.

Casey76 · 25/05/2011 18:06

Peachy....fair enough you do not find it funny I get it but FFS get a grip..It was hardly the same situation that you were in was it???

OP posts:
Borisneedsahaircut · 25/05/2011 18:20

Don't have to be a feminist to find it offensive Casey, I'm certainly not a feminist, Just an adult!
I can't imagine my parents or much of the older generation finding it funny and to them it probably would sound very insulting and offensive. I'm not a Catholic but that doesnt give me the right to make insulting remarks about them. Just accept it that most people on here don't find it funny and find it pretty pathetic.

Primalscream · 25/05/2011 18:26

Casey76 - I would't have reported her because what's there to report? - if I reported everyone who I considered to be an uneducated idiot I'd never get anything done - and I really don't like your terminology - 'old hag' - you sound like a real charmer...

Fimbo · 25/05/2011 18:28

Casey are you a man perchance?

fedupworking · 25/05/2011 18:32

Work with some people whose attitude is as dry as a nuns cunt, must try and remember this one lol

HaughtyChuckle · 25/05/2011 18:40

I use the phrase 'you'res a tight as a nun's cunt'

HugoFirst · 25/05/2011 18:41

its a VILE expression
