AIBU?
to think that fast food is just utter and complete rubbish??

I am not trying to be smug, but I would never intentionallytake my kids to a fast food place (like McDonald's, for example). We have eaten there a few times when it was a last resort, but I honestly think it is the worst food you can eat, even if it's only in moderation. I keep hearing casual comments from friends about going out as a family for an evening meal to McDonald's , and I just scratch my head; if I want a meal out, there are plenty of places we can go as a family that isn't going to cost a fortune, and where we can eat proper food. Am I wrong to feel this way?? I'm probably being all judgey pants about it, but I just don't get it....
Here, I'll get my own .

What are you expecting? candles? live music? waitress service?
I'm not a fan of Mcdonald's either but sometimes its useful if you are short of time and need something quick.
Health-wise their food isn't actually all that bad. Not if you compare it to say KFC or a chippy.
It has its place. Like most things, if used in a reasonable manner it's fine. Go there everyday and eat big mac's then you are in trouble.

Just don't go to them, OP. I don't understand why you have an issue with it, it's not like you don't have a choice?
I'd give you a , but they're full of hydrogenated fats and sugars and rubbish too.
What about salad? That's fast, you can throw it into a plate faster than you could have written the thread.

yes, yabu
nutritionally there is really very little wrong with mcdonalds if you're talking burger and fries.
don't know much about their chicken nuggets and stuff tho
that said, it has never really been somewhere I frequented. went there as a kid sometimes, then literally had a couple of decades of not going there at all... it just didn't register.
then I had ds2... he is egg/milk intolerant. it's really, really, really difficult eating out.
however mcdonalds fishfinger happy meal is fine for him! so I have been to McDonald's more times in the last couple of years than I had in my whole life before (which wasn't hard). we don't go there a lot, but every now and then we do.
my allegiance has sadly swapped from M&S cafe to McDonald's... sad days!
I must say though that it certainly wouldn't be my choice for an evening out!!!

I'm with you OP. The smell alone is enough to prevent me ever getting through the door. Vile stuff. Granted its cheap and quick for parents, but not so good for teaching your children good eating habits. I also find it hard to believe that people take familes there for days out or treats. And you just have to look at the shape and appearance of their average customer sitting there piling junk food into their mouths with their hands (no utensils). Even worse are the drive in ones where people stink out their cars and then can't even be bothered to waddle to the bin to dispose off their rubbish so throw it out their car window, to be blown into neighbouring house's gardens. To me, its something thats pretty low down the food chain (pun intended).
