I've just bought it to have a read, but have scanned the article, and he's also named inside! Don't know how they got away with that. :)

Well who is it???

saffy85 · 22/05/2011 09:37

Is it who everyone says it is? Wink

vmcd28 · 22/05/2011 09:39

In the words of another mumsnetter, it rhymes with Lyin' Pigs. :)

Check his wiki page as well. It says it outright on there, including the info about suing twitter!

saffy85 · 22/05/2011 09:42

This has to go in history as the worst kept secret ever dunno why the scummy little git bothered to spend all that money.

And I love the rhyming slang. So appropriate. Grin

ForeverNamechanging · 22/05/2011 09:42

He is a goats scrotum. Truly

madonnawhore · 22/05/2011 09:43

Should have saved the injunction money and donated it to women's aid or something instead.

It's everywhere!

But we don't actually knows who THE footballer is do we?

Calixte · 22/05/2011 09:48

I imagine someone who is a complete family man who is utterly devoted to his wife like for example Hugh Bonneville, would be disgusted with that footballers behaviour .

LostMyIdentityAlongTheWay · 22/05/2011 09:55

I'm trying really hard to give a shit. I honeslty don't think this stuff is in the public interest. If you're there, making policy and affecting people's lives in the realm of politics, social work etc, surely there is an arguable case for public interest, such as Major's 'BAck to Basics' obvious conflict between 'do as I say, not as I do'..
But we all know - this stuff is not public interest... it's public titillation and shifting copies of the papers, surely?

Genuine question - how can this be public interest. It's gossip.

I hate the news atm. It's full of crap like this. Plus the Tories. BOAK.

vmcd28 · 22/05/2011 09:57

I'm reading the article now. Front page is HUGE PHOTO of Lyin' Pigs, with his eyes blacked out, and the headline "everyone knows this is the footballer accused of using the courts to keep allegations of a sexual affair secret. But we weren't supposed to tell you that..."
:)

Just read that twitter users have responded to the legal action by repeatedly mentioning his name at a rate of 16 times per minute.

Arf.

vmcd28 · 22/05/2011 10:01

Lost, it is in the public interest when he earns a fortune from families going to the games, buying his football tops, he gets/got sponsorship deals based on his image, and the list goes on...

goodegg · 22/05/2011 10:04

Which Herald is it? Is it online?

WhoAteMySnickers · 22/05/2011 10:07

He should have just let Imogen do her double page spread kiss and tell in the News of the World. It would have been in the recycling bin by Monday morning and the general public wouldn't give a shit - just another footballer shagging around - yawn.

He is a prize dick. I hope his knob turns green and drops off.

MollysChamber · 22/05/2011 10:08

Personally I don't like the idea that if you have enough money to threw at a problem you can make it go away and are therefore never answerable for your actions.
