Yanbu - extremely tacky and said by men you wouldn't want to fuck at all -

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 21/05/2011 18:38

It is tacky and I've always thought it was said by men who didn't have that many options really...

Ooopsadaisy · 21/05/2011 18:38

I am reliably informed that I have been referred to as a MILF.

I am able to laugh it off but can understand why someone would be offended by it.

I suppose I wouldn't have been told, if I was the sort of person to be offended by it though.

TidyDancer · 21/05/2011 18:42

Yes, coco, that's where I remember it from. Stifler's mum was the original MILF. I don't use the term, but I don't think it's really that bad.

Cocoflower · 21/05/2011 18:48

Yes I remember the scence! At the party they were looking at her photo and drooling and hence was born the MILF.

(Though I never did quite get what was so gorgoeus about her....!)

lou33 · 21/05/2011 18:49

I hate it. And i also hate the term cougar.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 21/05/2011 18:51

Do some women feel 'proud' of being called it though? Confused

It just sounds really grubby, somehow, to me anyway.

BimboNo5 · 21/05/2011 18:53

An acquaintance of mine on facebook calls herself and her friend 'milfs' and posts things like 'the milfs are out again tonight'

Primalscream · 21/05/2011 18:58

Hmm - some women have zero dignity

southofthethames · 21/05/2011 18:58

YANBU

BelleDameSansMerci · 21/05/2011 19:00

Shakirasma - each to their own. I am a little tired of it, personally.

onebigchocolatemess · 21/05/2011 19:10

what is dragon butter? Am too scared to google....

nijinsky · 21/05/2011 19:14

I really began to dislike it when an ex boyfriend, now married and father of two, referred to me as it in a misguided notion that I would find it complimentary and have an affair with him. I haven't even had children yet.

Its a bit like "bint", which is an Arabic term I think but used in a similar derogatory sense which is somehow meant to be complimentary (if you're desperate).

SnuffleTurtle153 · 21/05/2011 19:49

When I was pregnant I really wanted to call our DS Wilf. DH told me that's a name for a sexy wizard.

I don't know if he made this up because he didn't like the name or if there is in fact a WILF contingent out there, but it put me right off!

Mandyneil76 · 29/05/2011 11:28

MILF is a term that's grown on me gradually...depends who's saying it TBH, but if it's meant as a compliment, and its from someone young and hot, who am i to object? Wink

Jaspants · 29/05/2011 11:33

YANBU - horrid term

SunshineisSorry · 29/05/2011 11:54

Its vile, take a look at any porn site, there are whole categories dedicated to teenage boys shagging their friends mothers - sick. And i actually quite enjoy porn but this makes me want to throw up

Mollydollydoll · 29/05/2011 12:14

I never knew what it was til a few years back. What a horrible term
made up by horrible pervy men.

AnyFucker · 29/05/2011 12:17

I agree with belle

Women who see it as a compliment need to examine their self-esteem very carefully

Also anybody who quotes "American Pie" as some sort of social commentary Smile

fluffles · 29/05/2011 12:19

it's a teenage boy / mrs robinson thing... used by boys around 15/16 to refer to women old enough to be their own mother or their freinds' mothers (so around 35yo).

i would never use it because i'm not a 16yo boy. i am 35 and i am not in any way interested in whether or not 16yo boys would ILF me or not.

WhoAteMySnickers · 29/05/2011 12:23

I don't like it.

A few of the guys I work with spent the days after the royal wedding referring to Pippa Middleton as a BILF, they found this extremely funny.

SunshineisSorry · 29/05/2011 12:39

jumps up and down waving frantically at anyfucker - LEM here, i cant seem to be able to change my name back

tigercametotea · 29/05/2011 12:42

I don't like it. Objectifies the person they are referring to as a sex object.

AnyFucker · 29/05/2011 12:44

hellooooo SIS/LEM

haven't seen you in yonks

springydaffs · 29/05/2011 13:15

From what I gather mumnotmachine, it's said by a younger lad of a woman in her 30/40's

ahem, excuse me, but it doesn't stop at 40 ime thank you very much

back on topic: it's not meant to be insulting but a compliment, a leery one at that. It's the equivalent of a wolf-whistle imo and when you're beyond 40 it's flattering to know you've still got it, even though you do't let on.
