To wonder why people let themselves get fat?

I am frequently amazed at the number of women at 15/17/20 stone who suddenly realise how fat they are and want to do something about it.
Why do people let themselves get so fat? It's unhealthy, unsightly and very life limiting.
Why not just keep an eye on your weight and keep it nice and steady?

OP posts:

Seemed like a good idea at the time Hmm

madmomma · 05/12/2014 10:14

Sorry re zombie thread I'm a tool and only just noticed.

Hi worra yeah that would be the obvious and sensible answer but I'm a dick about food. Always have been. The kids have typical nursery food like eggs on toast, chicken, fish fingers, pasta etc, and I hate that stuff. I'm picky in the extreme. I know it's my own stupid fault.

Was going to put in my opinion of how easy it is for weight to creep up on you (used to always be 9 stone but then having children put a few more stones on that I just haven't been able to effectively shift!)
Then noticed the name hullygully as one of the posters a few pages in. Not seen that name for AGES so it made me clock the date and see it's a very old thread! Smile

mutternutter · 05/12/2014 10:40

what about side effects of medication?

MurderonthetopCs · 05/12/2014 10:47

Are you for real, Judgy? You certainly are judgemental. Many people spend their lives trying to control their weight and end up fatter than ever as well as hating themslves.

Sparklingbrook · 05/12/2014 10:50

The zombie thread bumps always expose the people who don't RTFT. Grin

furcoatbigknickers · 05/12/2014 10:57

Is that you Katie Hatekins?

Notgoodwithwords · 05/12/2014 10:58

My weight issues... Are connected to my poor mental health. I've struggled since early teens with low self esteem, depression, eating disorders.

Life is not always so simple op

Sparklingbrook · 05/12/2014 11:00
Sad
satsumasunrise · 05/12/2014 11:06

How can you find a 3 year old thread and post on it by mistake? I think you want to antagonise a lot of people just for fun.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 05/12/2014 11:16

satsuma agreed, too many lols from that poster.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherReindeerDoes · 05/12/2014 11:19

Sparklingbrook · 05/12/2014 11:20

To wonder why people let themselves get fat?
blingblingbling · 05/12/2014 12:23

I was feeling fat and miserable in the early hours. As I was feeding the dd. And i.I searched fat. Honestly, I didn't notice how old the thread was. It was a simple mistake.
