...or do the Royals not do that sort of thing in this day and age?

Just wondering what others think!

Ladymuck · 09/05/2011 14:49

Didn't Edward and Sophie need ivf?

jeckadeck · 09/05/2011 14:49

I would have thought it wouldn't be worth it for them to have been found to have tried it if it got out, if you see what I mean.... Imagine the headlines.... but maybe I'm being naive.

AuntieMonica · 09/05/2011 14:50

I'd like to think that any woman who was asked to do this would tell the establishment to shove it up their arses!

cabbageroses · 09/05/2011 14:58

I think that questions about her medical history are part and parcel of her role in producing an heir.

Evidently Diana went through this.

I would have thought that it boiled down to little more than was she having regular periods and no obvious signs of infertility.

scaryteacher · 09/05/2011 14:59

She's only 29 isn't she? I didn't start trying for our baby until I was 28, so she has time yet.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 09/05/2011 14:59

what a wierd thread...........do you need a hobby OP??Hmm

BootyMum · 09/05/2011 15:00

Why is Balsam being VVVU? I suppose it is an uncomfortable question as it prys into very personal and intimate territory... The speculation feels quite intrusive.

However I have to admit I also wondered this... Is this something the royal family would do to ensure a biological heir? Was it part of the process to approve her as the future Queen of England?

Technically I guess she could have had hormone tests to check she was ovulating...?

Nothing would surprise me about protocol re admittance to Royal Family.

Mishy1234 · 09/05/2011 15:11

I wouldn't be surprised tbh, although I would hope that she wasn't expected to.

FabbyChic · 09/05/2011 15:16

She would have had a full medical, plus fertility tests, of course she would.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 09/05/2011 15:16

What is wrong with people that they think of stuff like this? So intrusive and unpleasant... it's stalkerish. Confused

omnishambles · 09/05/2011 15:17

Ye gods - its noones elses bloody business FGS.

Hulababy · 09/05/2011 15:18

There is only so much testing they can do. Unexplained infertility won't show up and this accounts for hundreds and hundreds of cases of infertility every year.

bittersweetvictory · 09/05/2011 15:21

I must admit that this did cross my mind as well, not so much the fact that she would have been fertility tested beforehand but what they would do if somewhere down the line it was found that she couldnt get pregnant but with medical science nowadays im sure the babies will be coming shortly, one way or another.

AlpinePony · 09/05/2011 15:21

"Stalkerish"? Hmm Bwaahahahahahahahaha!

Can someone get Mary Poppins a Bloody Mary over there?

B52s · 09/05/2011 15:22

I will feel for her if/when she does get pregnant. It will be so... public. Poor girl.

capricorn76 · 09/05/2011 15:23

There is no way they would risk William not having an heir so I would believe that they would've had her checked out.

bittersweetvictory · 09/05/2011 15:24

and as for it being no one elses business, i dont agree, the future of the monarchy is everyone in Britains business because without us there wouldnt be one.

springydaffs · 09/05/2011 15:24

It is nobody else's business but I thought about this too tbh. You know what the firm are like Hmm

and yes I very much expect she had the full medical, and spotted the obvious q's about goings on 'down there'. Bit like signing a pre-nup, an essential in some antiquated, bizarre quarters.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 09/05/2011 15:25

...and theres little old me thinking they got married coz they loved each other Hmm

Alpine Pony... I don't have a carpet bag, nor can I fly with an umbrella (unfortunately), but there's something a bit grubby, don't you think, in focusing your attention on somebody's reproductive organs to this degree?

Obviously not. As you were then, grub away... perhaps OK will get some pictures for you. Hmm

mickeyjohn · 09/05/2011 15:32

I have wondered this too......I can't believe people are naive enough to think that The Firm would leave it all to chance entirely....she would have def been checked out - to what extent I don't know, but they are of course expecting heirs ASAP so it was bound to happen.

Why on earth is it 'stalkerish' to wonder?! And I don't think it's a weird thing to wonder either.....I just wonder how they actually do it, and as someone else has said, there's only so much they can tell through tests as so much infertility is 'unexplained' anyway...

Kendodd · 09/05/2011 15:37

AIBU to think that you all belong over here
