Yes another wedding based thread.

I think she seems a good egg. And looked lovely today.

Plus there were a few moments where she looked very emotional in the abbey, was very touching.

YABVVVVU

BoysAreLikeDogs · 29/04/2011 21:58

yy Paggy, I thought she looked ill and a bit shaky

diddl · 29/04/2011 21:58

"I do not think a lot of people would want to see her as queen. I think they will bypass Charles and go to his sons."

He´s been waiting his whole life to be King.

The only way he won´t be is if he dies before his mum imo.

And when he becomes King, Camilla becomes Queen.

SybilBeddows · 29/04/2011 21:59

I agree too QLB, I hated the self-serving sentimentality of that tabloid 'your country needs you Ma'am' shit.
the boys were surely better off with their family in Scotland rather than thrown into the fray in London.

QuickLookBusy · 29/04/2011 22:00

Yes Meditrina, I thought it was so awful when they did that walk about near Kensington Palace. Those poor boys had just lost their Mum and they were being told to do a bloody walk about-horrid.

Think it was Blair and Alistair whats his name who came up with that idea.

Have heard that that was one of reasons Blair wasn't invited to the wedding. William has never forgiven Blair for the way he behaved around that time.

Pagwatch · 29/04/2011 22:02

Thanks BALD. We seem to be a little isolated
I tend not to speculate about such things but it was kind of uncomfortable to see.

SybilBeddows · 29/04/2011 22:02

the walkabout was shameful. Do you remember all those loony people going 'William! William!' trying to hold his hand? I mean their heart was clearly in the right place but it was a mob. And Harry looked so young

laInfanta · 29/04/2011 22:03

Ha. I'm so glad Blair wasn't invited. I bet it really pissed him off.

GitAwfMayLend · 29/04/2011 22:04

really re Blair. Blimey.

I do hope you are mistaken Pag - she is young to be ill.

RunAwayWife · 29/04/2011 22:05

I think if William and Harry accept the woman who tormented their mother so and made her life so unhappy then that is all that matters

QuickLookBusy · 29/04/2011 22:06

Me too LaInfanta.

And even better Cherie didn't get an invite either.

QuickLookBusy · 29/04/2011 22:08

Yes GAML re Blair, I heard it on Radio 4 so must be trueGrin

Animation · 29/04/2011 22:08

"Those poor boys had just lost their Mum and they were being told to do a bloody walk about-horird."

QuickLookBusy.

Damn right. Never understood that - they were only 13yrs and 15yrs!

diddl · 29/04/2011 22:08

"I hated the self-serving sentimentality of that tabloid 'your country needs you Ma'am' shit. "

Yes, I agree.

Your country needs you because someone that the majority of the population didn´t know has died & we need to see her young sons.

GitAwfMayLend · 29/04/2011 22:09

god though do you remember the MADNESS of that time?

People crying in the streets, 'you're people need you ma'am'

Hysteria.

Goml

I genuinely hope I am wrong too. Smile

hairfullofsnakes · 29/04/2011 22:12

YABVVU. She ruined Diana's marriage or at least helped ruin it. She had a massive part to play in the unhappiness of Diana's life. Awful woman she is.

electra · 29/04/2011 22:14

WRT what happened with the love triangle, I think there are a few versions of what might have happened so really who knows?

Although it's become popular for people to think Charles never loved Diana, their friends were apparently of the opinion that when they first got married they were genuinely in love. It started to go pear shaped because various factors meant, basically they weren't suited to one another. Charles couldn't cope with Diana's bulimia and mental health problems and at that point turned to Camilla again. I've heard it said that because both Charles and Diana wanted to be the 'looked after' one in the relationship, neither could be what the other needed.

I've also heard it said that Charles was still a little in love with Diana in her final years and hoped she would survive the crash and wanted to look after her.

But.....in the end only they know what really happened. There do seem to be various different stories.

I can't look at Camilla without seeing Rupert Everett in St Trinian's...

breatheslowly · 29/04/2011 22:17

I have no issue with Camilla either way.

But there must have been quite a lot of squirming in seats at the "let no man put assunder" bits which seemed to be repeated rather a lot.

I think it was a mistake to invite so few labour politicians (particularly Gordon Brown). I am sure that there are lots of labour supporters who thought it was a real snub and it served to reinforce a sensation of "them and us".

RunAwayWife · 29/04/2011 22:18

I think she and Charles are much better suited the he and Diana and always have been, it is just so so sad that a 19 year old girl was used as a baby farm.

I do think Charles is a very weak man though

GreenEyesandHam · 29/04/2011 22:19

Camilla seems like a game old bird, I like her
