Yes another wedding based thread.

I think she seems a good egg. And looked lovely today.

Plus there were a few moments where she looked very emotional in the abbey, was very touching.

Loving this thread.

When I was little I used to sit at my granny's knee while she recited all the juicy gossip from the Wallis Simpson affair, resignation etc. She talked as if she personally knew them all, whereas I had no idea who any of them were.

You lot are doing a great job of channelling her - were she alive (and a lot younger) today, she would be on this thread joining in.....

stabiliser15 · 29/04/2011 20:59

I think Camilla is wonderful too. Thought she looked lovely today, as she did for her wedding. Agree with Alibabba - the princes have got to be the best judges of her and they're clearly very fond of her indeed.

deemented · 29/04/2011 21:00

I do like Camilla, much more then i ever liked Diana. She seems to make Charles happy in a way Diana never did or could.

MarioandLuigi · 29/04/2011 21:01

I like her - I bet she knows some really dirty jokes and can drink anyone under the table.

I like her better than Diana actually.

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 29/04/2011 21:03

Wrt her behaviour whilst married to Andrew P-B, iirc he was also involved with another woman throughout the marriage, whom he went on to marry after their divorce and before Camilla married Charles.
It wouldn't surprise me if they were both fully aware of the other one's affair but tolerated it and stayed in the marriage as friends for the sake of the children.

She seems to have a close relationship with her children who have obviously 'forgiven' their Mother and Father's behaviour.
Andrew and Camilla remained friends, and his second wedding was attended by both Charles and Camilla.
His wife died of cancer this year, I believe.

So YANBU. I like her very much.

Everthebeliever, what is it you believe in? Bizarre conspiracy theories?

FabbyChic · 29/04/2011 21:03

Are you serious? She was part of an affair that went on whilst Charles was married to Diana, she was the other woman. Totally not a nice egg or a decent person at all.

ivykaty44 · 29/04/2011 21:04

It is a shame in some ways that Camillia wasn't allowed to marry Charles in the first place - but we wouldn't have the princes we have if the marriage had been allowed. It seems though the royals learnt soemthing from their stubborness and allowed William to pick his own friends and eventual bride

LadylissielouofShropshire · 29/04/2011 21:06

fabby, do you really think that diana was an innocent party? the whole sorry state of affairs (excuse the pun) was ridiculous and sad!

QuickLookBusy · 29/04/2011 21:09

William and Harry obviously like her, so I really don't think she can be held responsible for Charles/Diana separation. Surely if she was, the Princes wouldn't beable to look her in the eye.

I like her and always think she looks like she needs a fag and a G and T.

nijinsky · 29/04/2011 21:09

Yes I agree with OP. I also think its a great romance over the years and I think she looks very attractive and is always well dressed. Well suited to Charles and its so romantic that they are finally together. She seems like a sporty, fun sort of person. The whole family are good sorts.

hairylights · 29/04/2011 21:11

fabby do you really think it's as simple as that?

2rebecca · 29/04/2011 21:12

I like Camilla. Sensible and nonmelodramatic. Shame she and Charles didn't stick together in the first place rather than her get married in a rush and the pair of them screw up Diana's life, but She will become queen if Charles becomes king, that's how it works. They don't let the plebs do a popularity vote.

diddl · 29/04/2011 21:13

I think that C&D would have seperated sooner or later.

They seemed to have nothing in common & I don´t think that anyone knew how to handle how emotional she was.

She was so young, & to try to grow up in that family..

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/04/2011 21:13

Diana would have been a nightmare mil wouldn't she? Imagine Camilla much easier on that front.

messymammy · 29/04/2011 21:16

I didnt like her,but since c&c have married and I can see how happy they look together I reckon she's OK!
I bet she has a really loud laugh too. Agree that she looks like a g&t and a pack of fags would be her perfect brekkie :o
I think she looks fab though, has a really lovely classic style.

laInfanta · 29/04/2011 21:19

C is my fantasy MIL

meditrina · 29/04/2011 21:19

MoreCrack - have you googled to see who A P-B was rumoured to be having an affair with? It would make a brilliant roman-a-clef - one for Jilly Cooper?

GitAwfMayLend · 29/04/2011 21:20

Was it princess Anne?

meditrina · 29/04/2011 21:21

Weren´t A-P-B & PA together at one time & he left her for Camilla?

SybilBeddows · 29/04/2011 21:26

good heavens.

Sassybeast · 29/04/2011 21:26

I loved Diana and used to think that Camilla was an evil marriage wrecker. but now that I'm older and wiser, I think that EVERYONE involved was manipulated in some way by the machine that is the monarchy with Diana being the most naive and most manipulated player in the whole sorry saga. I think that Camilla seems 'ok' now - but I don't think she will ever be queen. I don't think she would actually want to be queen ?

QuickLookBusy · 29/04/2011 21:27

Who is A P-B. God don't start all that initials thingy. There aren't any Super injuctions and I've drank too much to work it out.

Just give me a first name
