Moss you have have said what I have always thought about a lot of mumnetters - rather bitchy And not just about RW.

treedelivery · 29/04/2011 15:07

SamCam didn't really make a big effort did she? Her hair didn't look 'done'. Why wouldn't you wear a hat or a head dress?
Maybe they had a rushed morning. I'm a bit surprised though, her outfit just isn't a royal wedding outfit. It wouldn't be out of place in a news interview [cconfused]

Camila has good legs.

treedelivery · 29/04/2011 15:11

These abcnews.go.com/International/Royal_Wedding/slideshow/the-royal-wedding-in-photos-13470425 must be a throwback to www.truebritsjournal.co.uk/images/dianachas_wedfamily1.jpg

SAme sort of sash, length and lace trim. That's a nice thing to do.

queenceleste · 29/04/2011 15:18

Bride's dress 8/10
Bride too wedded to that dark lower eyeliner, it's too much, less is more - she's lovely, she doesn't need it.
Pippa's dress 10/10
bridesmaid's 10/10
Tasteful wedding.
Sermon = too long.
Beatrice's hat = ridiculous, someone should have stopped her doing that.
Queen, MOB and Camilla all looked v nice.
Samcam - make an effort
Blair/Brown absolutely should have been invited - royals should be politically impartial.
Posh's shoes = ridiculous
Chelsey Davy - how could she make herself look so dowdy in that hat?

Kate looked very composed and elegant, thought top half of her dress was just perfect.

at the two ugly sisters

Gemsy83 · 29/04/2011 15:36

Oh shut up with your 'some people are so b itchy' claptrap. Its a royal wedding- a talking point, not everyone is going to have favourable opinions of the dress/bride/groom whole god damn thing- branding people size 18 messes/bitches etc shows you up for what you are rather than anyone else

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 29/04/2011 15:44

Loved Catherine's dress and thought the bodice was very vintage style, but I thought her veil hugged her head too much and her flowers were far too insignificant; I've made better myself!

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 29/04/2011 15:46

More than a nod to Grace Kelly's wedding dress but the difference is that woman was truly beautiful whereas Kate's looks aren't anything out of ordinary.

Shame she didn't wear a variation of her sister's dress - at least the upper half had the the wow factor, and the button back was elegant.

Overall I thought the dress didn't live up to the occasion, and it was strangely disappointing after all the hype re the designer etc.

HRHCaveMum · 29/04/2011 15:46

One of the older flower girls was Prince Edwards daughter and one of the page boys is the son of (I think) one of Princess Margaret's children. The others were children of William & Catherine's friends.

mountaingirl · 29/04/2011 15:47

What a wonderful day! All that pomp and ceremony just magnificent. Nobody does it better than the British.

Kate looked beautiful as all brides do on 'their' day. My mother's bodice on her wedding dress from 1955 was almost identical. My husband noticed the nipple thing but I think it was the placing of the lace. Kate looked every inch a princess. 10/10

Everyone else looked fabulous: loved Mrs Middleton's outfit and Camilla's. Pippa looked beautiful and maybe she did get to wear the dress that Kate might have worn if she'd married someone else. The little bridesmaids were very 90's (same as my little niece wore at my wedding 20years ago) and very classic.

Those that got it wrong (in my humble opinion) were Princesss Anne (awful colour on her), Samantha Cameron did not dress up for the occasion sadly, and as has been mentioned before, Euginie and Beatrice resembled pantomime dames and looked shocking. Loved TPTompkinson's dress.

Felt quite emotional looking at William and Harry whilst thinking about Diana. She would have been so proud of her sons on this special day.

William and Kate have just come out of Buckingham Palace in their car....fantastic! Good luck and best wishes to them both.

treedelivery · 29/04/2011 15:47

I have to say picture 30 of Kate is just lovely lovely lovely. I am a sucker for a wedding.

See I really love that head hugging veil look Solo . Apparently the flowers are mostly taken from plants grown for significant events - the official website has the low down if you like your flowers [csmile]

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 29/04/2011 16:04

I liked it forward tree but not back...perhaps I just like the gathered look.

spamm · 29/04/2011 16:06

You can zoom in here on details of the dress.

I loved Catherine's dress - I think she looks timeless and beautiful. Have not yet seen Beatrice and Eugenie - dying to see what you are all on about.

Disclaimer: I live in the US and could not be bothered to get up before dawn.

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 29/04/2011 16:08

My Dd said some funny things whilst we watched the wedding...

About one of the clergy as Catherine walked up the aisle 'Look at that nice shiney head, he has no hair Mummy'

About the ring ' Mum it wont go on' Me 'yes it will' Dd 'Mum, her hands are really sweaty'

As they were sitting at the side 'I like her hoody!' Grin I did laugh!

overthesea · 29/04/2011 16:10

Dress elegant but old fashioned; was really hoping for more from Sarah Burton.

Princess Anne - give me strength and those York girls - OMG what were they thinking. I was please to see the Middleclass Middletons camp looked much better that the royal one.

Agree Page Boys looked really lovely.

unsurevalentine · 29/04/2011 16:12

She looked wonderful, her sister looked amazing, her bother was excellent, they were all great, loved the Aston Martin it was all wonderful [cgrin]

unsurevalentine · 29/04/2011 16:12

brother even....

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 29/04/2011 16:14

Did anyone else think that those diamonds should've sparkled in the tiara? I was disappointed in that. I made my friends things a few years ago and her cheap diamantés sparkled beautifully with every movement. I'd expect more of the Queens diamonds!

RunAwayWife · 29/04/2011 16:27

Also love the drive back to Clarence house, what good fun.

Kate was Cinderella

Beatrice and Eugenie were the ugly sisters!

RunAwayWife · 29/04/2011 16:28

I think the Middletons come across as a lovely family

rockinhippy · 29/04/2011 16:30

sorry oversea I have to disagree with it being "old fashioned" Confused yes it had a very retro 40/50s feel to it, but that is bang on trend for now & it had a few twists that brought it right up to date

Agree over York girls though - horrendous & princes Anne looked liked she'd had a fight with the florist - & LOST Confused

Any news oo the cake yet?? - I want to see that now :)
