to want to see Take That when I'm eight months pregnant?

Okay. I had tickets to see Take That on 2nd July. I am usually a rational, intelligent woman with much better musical tastes, but I have loved Take That since I was 11 and the habit isn't going to die now Grin

Almost immediately after I bought the tickets I discovered I was pregnant Smile Smile Smile and that the baby is due on 26th June. So I sold the tickets on viagogo and we used the money to buy a cot. I think this was saintly behaviour, given that I have seen Take That at every tour since 1994 and, in the wilderness years, was a huge Mark Owen fan. I've been to see him twice too Blush. In fact, DH is actually a Mark Owen fan now, despite usually liking Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Aerosmith.

I also sold my piano to pay for repairs to our house, so I am now thinking I am a double saint. We are ploughing all our money into making our house better for when the baby comes, and trying to make sure we have zero on our credit cards etc before she is born. Obviously this is all very sensible and I am in total agreement with DH that this is what we should do.

Last weekend, though, I won £95 on a £5 bet on the Grand National, and I did a telephone interview for which I got £60. So I now have £155 to burn. DH wants us to go for a meal, go to the cinema, and go for lunch etc with the money. I want to go to see Take That at the end of May in either Sunderland or Manchester (we live in Cambridge). DH says this will end up costing way more than £155 with travel/hotel involved. I say I'm carrying his child and I deserve it Grin

Who is right? . Tell me it's me!

PS - DH also thinks that, what with all the queueing and crying and screaming and excitement, I should not be going to see Take That when I'll be eight months pregnant. After the money, that's his main argument. Should have added that in to the previous post.

I went to see George Michael at Wembley when I was 8 months pregnant (I live in Yorkshire). It was one of the best nights I have ever had. I did have a seat and easy access to the loos though! I'd say go and hope you have a fantastic time.

Georgimama · 16/04/2011 16:53

I am in exactly the same boat as you, I am going to see TT at Cardiff on 15th June and at Wembley on 1st July. I will be 33 and 35 weeks pregnant respectively. I am in denial about the possibility of going into labour with excitement.

dontcallmepeanut · 16/04/2011 16:55

I went to see the WWE wrestling at 8 and a half months preggo. Although DS started kicking like mad when the fireworks kicked off.

roundtable · 16/04/2011 16:56

I'm going too and I'm due in september. I'm looking forward to it as baby should be able to hear what's going on! Go, go, go and enjoy yourself!

I'm also going to see glee...Blush

Georgimama · 16/04/2011 16:57

It is also a good thing this baby is a girl because I think I may be gripped by a hormone induced desire to call it Gary or Howard otherwise.

lazylula · 16/04/2011 18:04

I am going when bubs will be 8 weeks ish old, not sure how this is going to work with bf (if I am successful this time) but I am trying not to think about that right now!

Susiewho · 16/04/2011 18:06

YABU.

Take That are crap.

I went to see Morrissey when I was about 8 months pregnant (unseated; lots of dancing) and it was great!

Georgimama · 16/04/2011 18:07

It is possible to like Morrisey and Take That, you know.

Lazylula - express. But don't attempt to do this for the first time on the day. It's quite tricky to get the knack.

pirateparty · 16/04/2011 18:11

I am currently 8 months pregnant and there is no way I would want to go to a concert TT or otherwise right now, but that might just be me! The toilets, the lack of being able to sit, the backache, the pushing and shoving, oh it's tiring me out thinking about it! And I also love TT - although possibly not as much as you!

But I am having a bad and grumpy day and so you probably shouldn't Ostend to me Grin. I don't think you're going to anyway Grin

pirateparty · 16/04/2011 18:12

Ps Ostend is not some cockney rhyming slang - just predictive text - I of course meant listen!

trixymalixy · 16/04/2011 18:14

I went when I was 8 months pregnant and was fine. We did have seats though.

Panzee · 16/04/2011 18:15

I went to Whitesnake when I was 8 months.

Georgimama · 16/04/2011 18:17

I know for a fact my Cardiff trip at 33 weeks will be seated; I didn't buy the tickets for Wembley so I'm really hoping they are. I bought them before I was pregnant.

MaisyMooCow · 16/04/2011 18:20

OP, come to Manchester and see them. The boys will be in their hometown and the atmosphere will be great. There are some great hotels here that don't cost the earth (go on laterooms) and I'm happy to recommend a few. Go on, you know you want to! :)

onadietcokebreak · 16/04/2011 18:30

Im off to see Bon Jovi but will only be about 22 weeks pregnant but even if I was 39wks I would still go!

TheMonster · 16/04/2011 18:35

I wouldn't go. When I was pregnant with DS I went to a concert at school at DS was going bananas inside me because of the noise. I was extremely uncomfortable.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 16/04/2011 18:51

I went to see Take That in 2006 when I was 8 months pg on their first tour after they reformed. I went on 18th May and DS was born on 18th June. It was absolutely fine, in fact I saw quite a few pregnant women there. The trick is to have seats so that you can sit down during the slower numbers.

Just treat yourself and enjoy!

iamamug · 16/04/2011 19:02

Please tell me how you are going to get a ticket now?? Thought they were a s rare as hens' teeth.. Share share!!!!

dolldaggabuzzbuzz · 16/04/2011 19:26

YABU. Take That are shit.

shakey1500 · 16/04/2011 19:28

I went to see Streisand 2 weeks beofre my due date. Fab usher took me out of the massive queue for the toilets and said I could use the disabled ones. Equally heavily pregnant lady in front of me who, when I said I was 2weeks off said "That's nothing, I'm 2 weeks overdue!!!"

MigratingCoconuts · 16/04/2011 19:30

I think you are nuts!!! To be 8 months pregnant, at a concert would have been hell on Earth for me...but each to their own!
