Every time I go to a school meeting they advise me to get some therapy.
I think they are trying to be nice about all the crap we have DEALT with over the last few years but I also think they are talking crap.

It may suit some but not everyone.

Bohica · 14/04/2011 22:10

I do literally lump into my pants instead of jumping into them Grin

Ahh beer you caught me trying to engage & you always do it so much better than I do.

tethersegg · 14/04/2011 22:36

Interesting...

So, tell me, did your father have a sense of humour?

Do you think this could be why you experience difficulty with humour?

Lichen replacement therapy required, I think. Or perhaps school failure low self-esteem therapy? or no, I have it - GO TO BED IT'S PAST YOUR BEDTIME therapy. There. No Easter eggs for you.

DoubleNegativePanda · 15/04/2011 04:00

Oh, American. No wonder it's so common and overdone.

Hmm
Tee2072 · 15/04/2011 06:14

So American? Yes, that's right, I forgot. Freud was an American. So was Jung.

GotArt · 15/04/2011 06:16

I guess you don't watch Dr. Phil. Grin

CheerfulYank · 15/04/2011 06:18

Therapy = fabulous if needed.

Americans = fabulous in any case. :o

Einstein darling, would you like a Biscuit ?

sausagesandmarmelade · 15/04/2011 06:47

We used basic common sense....and listened to our family and friends.

I'm sure there are some specialist therapists that do a good job...but often people pay thru the nose to have someone sit on a chair, nod their heads occasionally and offer very little in the way of advice!

flimflammery · 15/04/2011 06:58

I know, let's derail this completely and make it 'Complete the following sentence: AIBU to wonder how the f*ck we managed without...'

My submission is

(to wonder how the fck we managed without) dentistry*

flimflammery · 15/04/2011 07:00

I'm sure there are some specialist dentists that do a good job... but often people pay thru [sic] the nose to have someone sit by a chair, look at their teeth and offer very little in the way of fillings.

laptopwieldingharpy · 15/04/2011 07:02

Religion or drugs

sausagesandmarmelade · 15/04/2011 07:08

16.50 for a check up isn't exorbitant...and if you don't need treatment, that's it...you're done for 6 months.

Therapy on the other hand IS very expensive and (from what I gather) you're often given a session of visits (could be wrong here) and may or may not get very much from those visits.

KingofHighVis · 15/04/2011 07:13

I've never had therapy and therefore cannot provide useful comment.
