My mum just texted me to say that tomorrow there is a documentary on BBC3 at 9pm called, "Is Breast Best?".

I predict a bunfight! Grin

I am not trying to make a point. I am merely giving the facts of my experience (some of them in response to comments made earlier in the thread).

MarianneM

Whoa!

I'm with mixed feeding btw.

Worked fantastic for me and my babies.

PunkPixie · 12/04/2011 21:06

Animation I'm due any day with our fourth and I'd love to speak to someone who's sucessfully tried mixed feeding. Did you find you needed to buy different bottles such as the Doctor Brown's to help avoid nipple confusion?

Casserole · 12/04/2011 21:09

Why am I watching this? Why am I watching this?

DuelingFanjo · 12/04/2011 21:10

is this where we're discussing it? or is there another thread?

megapixels · 12/04/2011 21:11

I don't see another thread. Maybe discussion on this one?

ohanotherone · 12/04/2011 21:11

Is it here??? All a bit weird so far....

DuelingFanjo · 12/04/2011 21:12

I would never look down my nose at a young mum breastfeeding.

YouaretooniceNOT · 12/04/2011 21:12

YADNBU to think this thread would kick off!!!

DuelingFanjo · 12/04/2011 21:13

Oh Sad I hate that I just heard someone say boobs are for sex ... how sad.

ohanotherone · 12/04/2011 21:13

Oh Jordan now.....

Sassybeast · 12/04/2011 21:13

'Boobs are for sex and showing off'

Switching over to watch Kerry Katona.

Alambil · 12/04/2011 21:13

it's so damned annoying - why not suggest that mum (the one with the new born - humphrey's mrs) goes to a BF support group and sorts her latch?

ohanotherone · 12/04/2011 21:14

She looks great....

Chicksy · 12/04/2011 21:15

PunkPixie - I did mixed feeding with my DS1 and DS2 from Day 3 and Day 8. I used the Tommee Tippee bottles and we had no issue with nipple confusion at all.

Saying that I have just tried a bottle of EBM with DD1 at 8 weeks - she wasnt impressed at all. Should have done it sooner. Not mixed feeding this time though.

megapixels · 12/04/2011 21:16

I'm not warming to the presenter. Odd question to ask.

ohanotherone · 12/04/2011 21:16

Here we go, you freak dad, you've ate breast milk??? So what???? (It tastes like honey milk btw)

DuelingFanjo · 12/04/2011 21:17

why even discuss other people tryiong your milk, what is the point? meh!

highlystrung · 12/04/2011 21:17

I am so, so sick of the passive aggressive stance the bottle brigade assume against breastfeeding. All this bollocks about breastfeeding being rammed down peoples throats is just laughable - medics, the government, scientists and researchers etc have a duty to tell us what they know, and that is the obvious - that human mothers provide optimal nutrition for human babies. Can't really see what the BBC is going to uncover in it's 'investigation'. What will they look into next. If not having anything to eat for a week will leave you feeling hungry?

gaelicsheep · 12/04/2011 21:17

AARGH - will someone please tell those mums that breastfeeding in public (or on TV for that matter) does NOT mean getting your boobs out!!!

Liv77 · 12/04/2011 21:18

Someone please give that girl a nipple shield

PDog · 12/04/2011 21:18

At last - some mention of support

Alambil · 12/04/2011 21:18

LOL @ if not eating for a week will leave you hungry....

FINALLY the poor girl (Emma) is getting some help. WHY did they not tell her this days ago?

ohanotherone · 12/04/2011 21:19

Get a pillow love!!!! Shut up Cherry!

fifitot · 12/04/2011 21:19

I'm not watching. It will just aggravate me.
