In the SM today was a photgrapher taking pics of children and parents with various Easter props.
We were waiting in the queue. The photographer took some lovely shots of two little girls and commented to the parents that one of the girls (about 5?) looked rather like Angelina Jolie- she had long dark hair and beautiful features. 'Yep' said her Dad ' She's going to have perfect blow job lips!' and they laughed.
I am still really unnerved. Was I B U and prudish?

Jesus! That's disgusting. Would kill DH for something like that though he would NEVER make that sort of comment about a child never mind his own. Some people just have no filter between their lewd brains and their mouths sadly. Definitely not BU OP!

LoveLeonardCohen · 09/04/2011 21:33

That's a bit disgusting actually

Bringonthegoat · 09/04/2011 21:35

YANBU - sickos

Thingumy · 09/04/2011 21:36

Curry-the OP said they both laughed.i assume she means the father and the photographer.

He's is being unprofessional by laughing at a utterly vile and lewd comment about a child.

Kitsichick · 09/04/2011 21:37

yes, I just don't know what to do and I hate myself for not saying something- but what? I am the OP who offered someone a free child's meal in Morrison SM when I was asked if I wanted one free with my meal and the mum behind me had said to her dc that they didn't have the money for her to have lasagne. And the Mum told me to 'eff off you snobby cow' or words to that effect. I was scared of being yelled at and now I am mad that I didn't say to them 'That's inappropriate'. Don't know them from Adam. It was at a supermarket while we were out for the day and not our usual one.

Shock

Vile men!

Kitsichick · 09/04/2011 21:38

No- sorry- I meant the parents laughed. The photographer sort of ha ha'd and looked very uneasy and embarassed. In no way can I find any fault with him. He didn't say 'that's wrong'! But then- neither did I!
What should I have done/you have done?

LDNmummy · 09/04/2011 21:39

KIt there isnt much you could do, but the mother of that little girl really needs to think about what she can do about this. Still in shock and actually worried about the little girl.

LDNmummy · 09/04/2011 21:43

TBH I would have gone "OMG, did you just say that! That is disgusting..." and caused a scene. But that is because I am that type of personality. It probably would have got me in trouble anyway. But in all honesty, what can you do. At the end of the day, those are her parents and whatever you say, she would be going home with them, more is the pity.

elmofan · 09/04/2011 21:50

Poor little girl having a dad like this Sad

NinkyNonker · 09/04/2011 21:51

Urgh. How a father can think about his own daughter in that vein sickens me. If DH even heard someone else say something along those lines about DD he'd be a little peeved.

TWDA · 09/04/2011 21:52

I think your fibbing op

flyinstar · 09/04/2011 21:54

that,s just wrong, wrong, wrong ,on every level.

TheBolter · 09/04/2011 21:55

Jesus, words fail me. The only thing of any comfort here is that clearly the attitudes of this pair of sicko thicko parents are in a tiny minority. I have a five year old dd and this actually makes me feel quite sick.

Poor child.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 09/04/2011 21:59

Hmmmm......on the surface the dad seems a sicko. But then a tiny part of me wonders whether it was a foot in mouth type of joke - at the mention of Angelina Jolie, he thought of the description of her that is sometimes spoken about by some when it comes to her lips (sexist and lewd in itself, but at least it's about an adult). I bet it was a joke gone horribly wrong, because he would have quickly realised that anybody who overheard would have thought that he was thinking of his daughter in a sexual light when it probably wasn't what was intended.

On the other hand, if he didn't immediatley cringe and go bright red, then yes, he's a sicko.....

StarExpat · 09/04/2011 22:05

This is horrible :(

Why are people accusing op of lying Confused
someone would have to be really disturbed to make that up :(

Driftwood999 · 09/04/2011 22:06

The father can be traced through the photographic agency. If you have child protection concerns, a gut instinct, then it is your duty to contact SS, (they may know the family) they will assess whether or not to approach the agency for the contact details. From there it is for others to take it further. Your conscience will be clear.

Bringonthegoat · 09/04/2011 22:10

I imaging some have said it is a lie as it is too awful to think it's true. My gut reaction was 'No, surely not'. There are some hideous people out there though, with zero emotional intelligence.

googoomama · 09/04/2011 22:25

Urghhhh! The poor little girl. Makes my skin crawl reading it. Uggghhhh!

hairfullofsnakes · 09/04/2011 22:28

I feel sick reading this. I want to strig them up. Disguising sick vile piss poor excuses for parents. I am worried about that girl too. How can he even think that let alone say it?

Honeybee79 · 09/04/2011 22:31

Fucking hell. FUCKING HELL.
Her Dad said that?! WTF?

pigletmania · 09/04/2011 22:33

Thats digusting!

TotorosOcarina · 10/04/2011 15:24

I don't think the OP is fibbing.

Its a horrific thing to say but there are horrific people around sadly.

For instance theres a girl lives near me with 3 kids who she lets roam free, her eldest is only about 10 and she says things like 'shes a little bitch' and I've even called her daughter a 'slag' in the same jokey way someone might say their child is a 'flirt'

Some people don't think anything of sexualising their children :(

FriedEggyAndSlippery · 10/04/2011 15:26

Euwww that's horrible yanbu

Loonytoonie · 10/04/2011 15:33

I agree with Driftwood - I'd be seriously contemplating phoning it through and reporting time, date and location with the name of the photographers. If SS were concerned, they'd trace it up and the agency would be duty bound to give their name and address. That kind of comment isn't easily forgotten and is not right, on any level. Sick, thoughtless dickhead of a father with no braincells to see the implications of his statement, at the very least. At the very worst...... well, it doesn't bear thinking about Sad.
