To expect the wife to be a wife

Thought I'd get a birds perspective on this.

The wife is lazy and wont do anything "wifey" basically.

She puts in no effort to cook, clean, wash clothes, iron etc.

Leaves it all to me and I don't think it's fair. Anytime I try to say anything it turns in to a blazing row.

Oh dear, shamless bait laying stuart, you'll have to try harder than that.

Think, stealth try a gentle suggestion that you're worried that your wife is a bad mum for not breast feeding or something like that...

hecate · 05/04/2011 16:09

See, both partners working full time but one doing nothing around the house while the other is doing everything is NOT fair. And had this been a genuine thread, with the question posed in something that was not clearly a wind up, then the response would have been quite different and would have been a unanimous YANBU.

It's your turn of phrase that screams Pissing About.

MooMooFarm · 05/04/2011 19:56

I refute your claim until you are able to spell his name correctly Grin

I'm 99.99 percent sure Stuart whatever is a troll. Simply because no man speaking in this manner would don a pinny and do all the household chores while "the" wife paints her dainty toes in the garden.

PeterAndreForPM · 05/04/2011 20:40

Giselle, what happened to the other 0.01 % of you ? Grin

WMDinthekitchen · 06/04/2011 11:39

Clearly to you your wife is an object. To say 'the wife' just makes her sound like a thing - saying 'my wife' which you did not in your OP, is absolutely normal. You only married her because of her sexy arse - oh dear, you are finding out that if you marry someone you regard as little short of an object, you will regret it. You deserve all the ironing, cleaning, shopping and cooking forever more. Soixante neuf indeed! I hope she's got more sense! And I do hope you have enjoyed the take you thought we wouldn't see through. No doubt you are a veritable Adonis - sorry, if that's too difficult for you, Google it!
