leggings without a long top or dress?

I don't want to see women's bum cheeks in detail not shudder a camel's toe.

Do people not use mirrors any more?

The thing is, there are a very few young guys who can pull off the hanging trousers look. They are usually American rappers wearing expensive designer jeans and Calvin Klein style pants. They are not wearing primark special jeans and Tesco polyester boxer shorts that recently went through the wash with a black sock and have been tumble dried to death!

Kelly brook legs in that photo are way too big to wear leggings, I think. She is very pretty and nice body but her shape doesnt suit leggings.

Why is it always a wolf (or a wooluf as I like to call them) baying at the moon? Always. Confused

AbsDuCroissant · 04/04/2011 09:24

Yes, no more of these short tops and leggings, and tights as leggings - it has been going on TOO LONG

I'm also tired of people wearing cut off denim shorts, with the pockets hanging down, over black tights, in winter. When it's -5 out.

Just, NO.

FellatioNelson · 04/04/2011 09:29

I saw young lady wearing just that yesterday Abs - and she was large. Very very large. Like needing to shop in Evans large. I don't wish to unkind or scathing to big girls, but she really wasn't doing herself any favours. It's all Beth Ditto's fault. The fool. Ordinary big girls doing this don't look brave and edgy and sexy - they look dreadful . Sad

I can't believe leggings have made such a comeback!! l wore the horrid things at college in the early nineties and probably looked utterly dreadful. I had a particularly gruesome grey tie-dye pair, just the thing to go with teenage acne, greasy hair and badly applied make-up! I do remember covering my bum though.

I know the point of this thread is how awful the leggings/short top combo can look but I have to confess I saw a girl at my local train station not so long ago in grey opaque leggings and a biker jacker - full arse on show and my god it was fabulous!! The leggings somehow looked expensive (Wolford?) and she just had a butt to die for...Envy

YY, OP, YANBU. Had the misfortune to walk down the street yesterday behind a woman wearing a pair of denim leggings and a short fitted tweed jacket. She might as well have been naked from the waist down - all that flesh rippling as she wobbled down the street. She wasn't overweight and the leggings weren't at all see through, it was just the contrast between the short fitted jacket and what was going on down below that was truly horrid.

PS. YABU for bringing this back to my attention - had happily forgotten that particular memory until I clicked on your thread!

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 04/04/2011 11:07

Thinking about it, was looking at a woman in the arrivals section @ Gatwick airport on Saturday, very glamorous, obviously expensively dressed, but... in leggings and short leather jacket she dod look very Asda. (As I was meeting my 13 year old son from a school trip I eshewed my normal lattire of leggings & instead wore proper mum type clothes so as not to embarass him... Grin)

There are a whole family of wooluf wearers in my town, who always come calling on market day. What gets me is not so much the fact that they wear these abberations quite happily, but that they don't seem to notice that they have a woolufs arse on the left, and a woolufs head on the right with the zipper in the middle, and the whole of the woolufs body missing! surely if you are going to make an item of clothing like this, you would at least make the picture on the front match up??!! Maybe I am just being picky....

Tanee58 · 04/04/2011 14:40

Love this thread! I admit, I wore leggings the first time round and wear them now (and when I go out, more often than not, in Top Shop jeggings - sorry Blush). They're so much more comfy than jeans. But I think you have to have decent legs, and never, NEVER with a short top. My tops always reach to mid thigh.

Of course, I might dress differently, once I've ordered my SmoothGroove Grin!

Who remembers that poor woman whose husband went away on business and came home and proudly presented her with a hooded cape in the style of a dead wooluf (or maybe it was a tiger. Or a bear?) It was really expensive too. And grim. Oh how we laughed. Grin
