leggings without a long top or dress?

I don't want to see women's bum cheeks in detail not shudder a camel's toe.

Do people not use mirrors any more?

Mandy... I've wasted a few hours of my life on the SIW site Grin

I think my phone would have self destructed if i'd taken a picture of her tbh.... plus I was trying extremely hard to nonchalantly deal with the cashier whilst we both pretended we hadn't seen it

Men in leggings is just wrong on so many levels Shock

SummerRain · 30/03/2011 19:08

that smooth groove woman need a larger one for her rear end too judging by the shot of her going down the stairs.

Either that or she could consider buying pants in the right size Hmm

I don't think adults should wear leggings at all.

Unless under full length trousers to keep warm on an icy walk.

Mandy2003 · 30/03/2011 19:22

Just looked back a bit - no, Brazilian wax ("landing strip") isn't total, that's a Hollywood. So the 30yr older OH isn't totally perv!

Bucharest · 30/03/2011 19:31

No no! She is total. So she has a Hollywood then?
Ick ick ick at the manlegging.

oldraver · 30/03/2011 19:33

I saw two last week, one young quite large girl come walking toward me with very tight shiny see through leggings and short t-shirt

The same day I followed a Mum into school and I could see the pattern on her g-string through her leggings Shock

LoveLeonardCohen · 30/03/2011 19:47

I think if you are a slim 17 teenager maybe you could get away with it, but otherwise defo need a long top, tunic, skirt. The worst is when the fabric is quite thin and stretches over bum cheeks, then the pants are there for all the world to see. Not a good look....likewise jeggings

Ragwort · 30/03/2011 19:50

Can't stand leggings on anyone - gross (as for jeggings .............. double gross Grin).

Olifin · 30/03/2011 21:05

Jeggings are appalling, in my opinion.

I do like normal leggings though. They've more or less been my winter 'uniform', worn with long cardies/dresses and boots. Plus I can cycle in them so they're practical too.

I thank you for sharing your legging horror-stories. I can't quite bring myself to click on the man-leggings link though. I saw enough of that in the front row of 'Swan Lake' a few years back.

prunnhilda Your internal legging/feminism debate did make me larf.

Yanbu. I agree with you.

Gingefringe · 30/03/2011 21:15

We were at a restaurant last week-end where one of the waitresses was wearing thin leggings and you could see her stripy knickers underneath. You could see everyone looking at her bum as she walked past them (not a nice sight) - the boss someone should have told her!

noodle69 · 30/03/2011 21:30

I like them but I am very small framed so they suit me. Just dont buy the see through cheapy ones get some for a little extra cash and then you cant see anything. I wear them to work so know you cant see through mine as in my job that would be very inappropriate!

LaWeasel · 30/03/2011 21:32

noodle - but how do you KNOW, maybe everyone can see but doesn't have the heart to say?

Even if they can't see, it's not a good look I'm sorry. I'm tiny and there's no way I'd wear them with a short top.

Hulababy · 30/03/2011 21:33

I have leggings but only ever wear them with long tops or dresses. I treat them as slightly thicker tights tbh.

I don't even let 8y DD wear leggings without a top that covers her bottom. I hate the leggings/jeggings and t shirt type look on anyone.

smartyparts · 30/03/2011 21:35

I mentioned this on another thread today.

I was behind a large woman in the queue at Tesco. She was wearing see-through brown leggings and a short top.

I could see everything in gory detail - labels, knickers, bum crack, cellulite.

It's all I see when I close my eyes.

Hulababy · 30/03/2011 21:36

Some see through type ones are NOT cheap ones. They are sold as footless tights and place like John Lewis sell them, and they not particularly cheap either, well not for tights. They are a different material and mst definitely not supposed to be worn as leggings/

noodle69 · 30/03/2011 21:53

I think they look good on young schoolgirls and I have a similar frame so do think they look really nice.

I know they are not see through as we all wear the same ones and from the same place and none of my colleagues are see through.

Have PMSL at some of these comments. MIL wears jeggings..she's 50 but then she has also been known to wear a leopard print boob tube jumpsuit.......
Can't stand leggings think they make people look fatter not thinner despite someone telling me they are a fat girls dream Shock
