leggings without a long top or dress?

I don't want to see women's bum cheeks in detail not shudder a camel's toe.

Do people not use mirrors any more?

mollymole: YES! Where do people get those monstrous fleeces? And yes, teamed with a strange, non-descript, knee-length skirt and some sort of sensible shoe. A LOT of people in my town wear them which tells you a bit more than I'd like you to know about my town.

FellatioNelson · 31/03/2011 21:46

We all need friends like you LeQueen!!!!

Mandy2003 · 31/03/2011 21:49

I believe those fleeces are available by mail order only...hisssss!

There's a local home help who wears one with a floral skirt of indeterminate length, black opaques and Hotter (or imitation) shoes. This is a look that is wrong on so many levels!

bellaella16 · 31/03/2011 22:32

YANBU its vile. There is actually a group on facebook called 'leggings are not trousers so cover your arse ' (not that that means anything... )

Fimbo · 01/04/2011 17:31

Just discovered \link{http://whocouldresist.com/camel-toe-song/\camel toe song}

GandTiceandaslice · 01/04/2011 18:05

It's vile isn't it!
Was behind an ample arsed lady on the school run the other day.
It was vile. Her top was too short.
I felt ill for the rest of the day Wink

Pixel · 01/04/2011 18:05

The fleeces aren't mail order only because there is a shop near me that has them on a rail outside. They've been there for years which means that either they are doing a good trade in them, or they have never sold one. Grin

I went to Tesco last night after I'd been reading this thread which was fatal. There was a 'big-bottomed' girl wearing leggings with a short fitted jacket and every time I rounded a corner there she was. Then at the check out she was in front of me. I tried my best not to look, really I did, but it wasn't a pretty sight when she was bending over emptying her trolley. Shock

Prunnhilda · 01/04/2011 19:01

I saw a large woman today wearing leggings and a short top. She had a very big, rounded overhanging tummy (not a pregnant belly). That was bad enough in leggings, but then she turned around and she had a hole at her bum - Shock

Pagwatch · 01/04/2011 19:04

Doesn't everyone have a hole in their bum?

[worried]

Prunnhilda · 01/04/2011 19:05
Grin
Happylander · 01/04/2011 19:17

I wear fleeces but then I go camping and walk and stuff...does that excuse me?? I have no sodding dress sense but just enough to not wear leggings/jeggings

Pixel · 01/04/2011 19:33

Happylander, there's fleeces and fleeces. I think we are only talking here about the great big jackets with pictures of wolves/collie puppies and suchlike on them. (I too have a plain fleece for camping etc).

kerala · 01/04/2011 19:40

Desperateforthinnerthighs I was at an aerobics class once and the girl in front of me was wearing leggings and a short top. During a squat exercise the leggings seam dramatically split sadly she was not wearing knickers. She ran from to the class with her bottom hanging out never to return.

coinoperatedgirl · 01/04/2011 20:42

Yanbu, there is a lady I talk to on the school run who is actually fatter than me Shock, she wears leggings every single day, it's actually offensive when she bends over. One day she had on her nice see through leggings and high heeled boots, I can't even say what she looked like a massive pig with tiny little trotters , she only ever wears short tops too.

We did have a giggle in town the other day, dp and I have a competition for spotting the most inappropriate leggings, I won with a portly lady sporting the wet look. Not to mention the girl with very short shorts and a longish coat, dd actually pointed her out by saying she had forgot to put a skirt on (really did look like it Grin)

BellaMagnificat · 01/04/2011 20:45

Bothers me less than teh teen boys with jeans around their thighs, showing their knickers. How could that possibly be intriguing or inspiring?

I once delibertaely embarassed one offender by running up and explaining his trews were falling down. Blush

coinoperatedgirl · 01/04/2011 20:46

I don't get the wolf fleece thing, there are actually two women who wear them in the school playground, both seem relatively normal otherwise. A horsey (I'm assuming) woman, who is never seen without muddy posh wellies, other woman is young, buggy etc. They are just so hideous.

MissPenteuth · 01/04/2011 20:47

YANBU OP.

Leggings are not trousers.

nokissymum · 01/04/2011 21:03

oh i cant stop laughing! these comments are all soooo funny.. and i dont know how to use these silly smileys....even more funny....

nokissymum · 01/04/2011 21:07

there's a hole in my bottom, dear lisa, dear lisa, there's a hole in my bottom dear lisa a hole!

TartyMcFarty · 01/04/2011 21:09

Urgh, I am constantly having to order the boys I teach to pull their kecks up. Revolting sight. I once saw a twenty-something 'Adonis' strutting up the street with a group of friends, jeans halfway down his white-panted arse. Problem was, the pant fabric was really cheap and semi-transparent - you could see a dirty great line of pubic hair down his crack [boak]

TartyMcFarty · 01/04/2011 21:10

My point being that blokes have a lot to learn about modesty too!

Olifin · 01/04/2011 22:50

Fleeces are all right happylander. I wear them for camping and countryside walks and sometimes just generally in the winter as I'm deeply unfashionable

I am laughing ever such a lot at the hole-in-the-bum anecdote and the 'inappropriate leggings' competition.

Leggings on DD2 (10) are comfortable, practical and don't get bicycle oil on them. and yes i do prefer even her to put on a long top or skirt if going any where vaguely smart.
DD1 (13) is not as willowy and only wears leggings in public under something long.
(has some diabolical see through ones for lounging around in doors only)

Feel a bit of a hypocrite, lived in black leggings, black boots and an ordinary length jumper as a student, everyone did, but the leggings were thicker and the tops nothing like as tight as everything today.
