yes I was unqualified, - I was 18, but why "unsuitable" - after the official project ended they didn't have any qualms about me continuing to go in and volunteer.

I'm not sure at about how I feel re. this topic. I can see where Activate is coming from when she says about being bored being limited to those who are privileged. I have everything I need to survive and more. I often get a bit bored with life. However when I've had times of worry I've been too consumed with putting things right to be bored if that makes sense? I can understand though that for some with disabilities etc. 'putting things right' isn't feasible. God I'm really rambling on now...I think I'm bored. FWIW I don't think OP or Activate (can't be bothered checking if they are one and the same) was having a dig at people who are physically or mentally unable to change their situation.

I am up in the night with my ds. He has a temp and hacking cough. It's really rather tremendously fascinating and not boring in the least, as I am doing something about it! Yay! I am on here whilst simultaneously making middle of the night pancakes and ironing bibs.

Oh, and reminiscing about the old days when his father was here instead of in Thailand shagging whores.

I'm perfectly happy, and as I said earlier I'm never phsyically "bored" during the day, but I'm a bit bored of the monotity of my life.

I can tell you to the day what is going to happen every day for the next 6 weeks or so, it's mostly incredibly dull, so it's a bit boring really. But I'm happy enough with it.

I'm pretty sure that most people on this thread can find something to do to alleviate periods of boredom during the day (MN for starters ), but making your life in general more interesting is a much harder propsect.

However, I would agree that with the right circumstances (in most cases I know it's money and childcare/babysitting) it's much easier to lead an "interesting" life.
