AIBU to think that obese people should be extra careful on moving buses?

I had an obese mum land her entire body weight on my right knee yesterday as the bus we were travelling on jolted forwards - I was already sitting with ds, she had just got on with her husband and toddler. She apologised and even gave my knee a quick pat.

I woke up in pain today. There were plenty of handles to hold onto (it was a very modern bus) and def not overcrowded. I had intended to run many important errands today though I cannot do this anymore as it would be too painful. I am fuming.

Obese + clumsy = do not travel by bus ??

Fat and Polish - what a cheek!
Sorry to hear about your important errands.

Deliainthemaking · 29/03/2011 14:56

Is this still going?

hows the knee Grin

figcake · 30/03/2011 12:26

Recovered, thanks Grin. So kind of you to ask.

Weight issue was totally relevant IMO regardless of who it may offend. Pretty dumb to argue otherwise really. Those who don't agree should perhaps ask somebody to run a ten tonne truck over them, then let us compare the end result to having a Little Tikes car run over them instead. I did not need my A grade in A Level Physics to know that, did I (or maybe that does explain some of the ignorance and extreme defensiveness)?

My DS (5) jumps onto me regularly when being boisterous (from a height, even more awkward angles) though I have never sustained any injuries.

I am not remotely bothered what anybody looks like (though I am grateful that I look good enough for it not to touch a nerve unlike some others on here perhaps). However, if you fall on top of me and injure me in the process then we do have a 'relationship' of sorts so I am allowed to take your weight into account. Likewise, if you talk about me to somebody else in another language in front of me, then pointing out that you were doing so is hardly rude/racist.

And if you have a problem with that, you should politely and quietly fuck off.

I need more facts.

How fat was she? Are we talking Dawn French chubby or Hindenburg balloon replica? Did she have Greggs crumbs down her front? Did she have tracky botoms stretched across her voluminous arse, despite having no intention of doing any sporting activity? Was she huffing and puffing with the sheer effort involved in the simple task of heaving her manatee-like body off the bus?

FACTS. Now. What level of bile do I need to spew over this?

marmaladetwatkins · 30/03/2011 12:34

Oh and...

OP " I am generally considered to be attractive, yes."

Bet your husband is still boffing someone nicer, though.

NurseSunshine · 30/03/2011 12:40

I'm pregnant, should I not travel by bus either?

kreecherlivesupstairs · 30/03/2011 12:44

marmalade, you clearly didn't read correctly. She had well worn leggings on.
I didn't get past the first page. I am a total bloater and had to go and feed my face before I heave my hefty carcass off to collect DD from school in my reinforced car.
OP. you are a silly mare.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 30/03/2011 12:48

It was an accident, which happen regardless of weight, she apologised and therefore YABVVU, and TBH a bit vile

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 30/03/2011 14:00

Figcake - if she was speaking polish, how do you know for sure she was talking about you?

dukan · 30/03/2011 14:08
Biscuit
petisa · 30/03/2011 14:38

Hmmmm Hmm

"buttocks appeared to separate... well-worn leggings...soft and squishy"
"using eye gestures and speaking in Polish"
"intended to run many important errands"
"A grade in A Level Physics"

c'mon people this is a wind up!

wildfig · 30/03/2011 14:38

what's the Internet Law called when posters start casually dropping their own irrelevant qualifications in order to justify themselves?

TheLadyEvenstar · 30/03/2011 14:49

Asshole alert?

Ormirian · 30/03/2011 15:05

"should perhaps ask somebody to run a ten tonne truck over them"

Shock

She weighed ten tonnes? I'm surprised she was allowed on the road without a police escort. She must be a medical miracle.

'I am not remotely bothered what anybody looks like (though I am grateful that I look good enough for it not to touch a nerve unlike some others on here perhaps'

you've creeped ina few ron burgundy esquse comments like this in the post, I think you shoukd post a photo to back up these claims and ..of course to reinforce that that you're not remotley bothered by looks , there hardly worth menitoning really...'Oh wait!

you really couldnt be more obvious in your ego escapade if you wrote, 'I don't want to suffer undesirsbles on the bus' on a mallet and hit everyone in your vicinity fitting that band with it.

figcake · 30/03/2011 16:39

Poor little Delia, feeling bored, trying to resurrect the thread ... again. Um, I would like to post a photo but I don't have my login info handy. Maybe you could help me do this or I could send it to you? I am not ashamed of what I look like at all. Maybe you could post one too before requesting that others do?

This has been going strong for ages

lol at thinking that was a serious request I was making a point, you seeminly do not care what people look like but mention it an awful ot about yourself and others.

im a big girl not particuarly good looking there are many people who look far better than me but probably arent as arrogant, and don't say theres no arrogance the thread is dripping in it.

mumblechum1 · 30/03/2011 17:02

Grin at "foaming div". Will have to remember that one.
