What is wrong with people, you can fill the bloody thing in WHENEVER you want as long as it accurately reflects your household ON the 27th March.
It's not rocket science, do people think the form or web site will go up in a cloud of smoke if you do it before then.

did mine online last week. Every week is pretty much the same so it wont make much difference

macdoodle · 26/03/2011 23:05

Yes exactly, I did mine as soon as it arrived, I knew that my household would be exactly the same then as it will be tomorrow. Funnily enough my form didnt explode, and the census police havent come to get me.
If one more person whines " but I thought you had to fill it in ON the 27th", I think I might actually smack them!

i sent mine the day after I got it in the post (Had a brief moment of efficiency) and my mum had a bit of a turn at the very idea that i hadn't waited till 27 had passed. just in case like. ridiculous. YANBU.

AgentZigzag · 26/03/2011 23:06

I just did ours, pretty tedious really.

Who's been getting on your goat being all confused about when to fill it out then?

macdoodle · 26/03/2011 23:08

A fair number of people IRL when I say I've already sent it in, and a few threads on here. I don't understand how intelligent people can be so stupid.

OP posts:
FabbyChic · 26/03/2011 23:08

I sent mine back too the day after I got it. I knew exactly where I would be and whom would be in my house on the 27th March.

AgentZigzag · 26/03/2011 23:10

I got a bit confused over whether to say DD2 spoke english or not, she's only 14 months, so just getting to grips with 'peees' Grin

chicaguapa · 26/03/2011 23:11

I've submitted mine too. And said that no-one is allowed to stay at ours on Sunday. Grin

Suchffun · 26/03/2011 23:11

I decided not to do ours early as I had this horrible morbid thought that it could tempt fate and one of us meet an untimely end if I smugly did it sooner. (smug as in, here are the details of
my wonderful family)

I do realise this is crackers, but so what.

AimingForSerenity · 26/03/2011 23:13

We haven't done ours yet, just because disorganised, but will be no problem.

Have to tell you though I did have a chuckle when DD told me that students living on uni campus each have to fill in an individual form saying they live in college in term time. 4 porters are having to deal with 800+ students ringing up and asking things like "Do I live alone as I have a lockable room or in a house of 12 occupants and have to name all the others?", etc. Now that is census stress!! :)

StarlightMcKenzie · 26/03/2011 23:23

Hmm. Well my Dad was coming home from hosptial 6 days ago, but now he's in a hospice with a few days to live.

Good job we didn't do it in advance.

DessertNowPlease · 26/03/2011 23:25

I haven't done mine yet...was tempted to do it the day it came in the post, but I couldn't be bothered.

Looked at it again earlier today, noticed for the first time it said on it 'to be completed on March the 27th or asap after'...still can't be bothered. Oops.

freebreeze · 26/03/2011 23:27

Hmmm, we're doing ours tomorrow. We must be really stupid in your eyes. Can't get too excited about that really - in the words of Catherine Tate, 'Am I Bovered?!!'

macdoodle · 26/03/2011 23:27

Starlight, I am sorry about your father.
But if you read my OP, as long as you know that it will accurately reflect your household on the 27th then it is fine to do it in advance. Obviously in cases with imminent deaths and births, the circumstances are slightly different.
Though to be totally honest, I am sure it would still not make a whole world of difference.

OP posts:
StarlightMcKenzie · 26/03/2011 23:28

My post was only indicating that you can't possibly know. If we had done it a week ago it would have been wrong.

I agree about it not being a big deal though.

macdoodle · 26/03/2011 23:28

freebreeze, if the only reason you're doing it actually ON the 27th, is because that IS census day, then am afraid I do think thats a bit stupid yes.

OP posts:
macdoodle · 26/03/2011 23:30

If I had had an unexpected death, the only reason mine would be any different, considering there is only me and the 2 DD's in my house, then the last thing I would have given a toss about then and thereafter would have been the census.

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 26/03/2011 23:31

If you were only allowed to do it on the 27th, then the website wouldn't work befoe then.

I have not done it yet because I cannot be arsed. If I don't do it I doubt DP will, and then the s=census police might be round.

macdoodle · 26/03/2011 23:33

They might Trillian, it's the law innit Grin

OP posts:
shinyshoes · 26/03/2011 23:33

SHIT , MY NEPHEW IS STAYING OVER TONIGHT, WILL I HAVE TO INCLUDE HIM?????????????

OP posts:
shinyshoes · 26/03/2011 23:38

Thanks Macdoodle Smile

freebreeze · 26/03/2011 23:41

Yes I realise that Mac. But as I said, it really is no concern to me! I can't even bring myself to explain why....just SO don't care what you think. Why don't you get upset about something that matters? Why don't you get yourself a Gin and chill out ?

spiderslegs · 26/03/2011 23:41

Not doing mine - 'tis evil.

macdoodle · 26/03/2011 23:42

I really don't mind that you don't care what I think. That's fine by me.
I still think you're being stupid though.
