To note that the models in the new bravissimo catalogue have pretty small racks?

Yes I have to say that I noticed that the "curvy" model in their new peppapig range or whatever its called had a smaller bosom than myself.

BlooferLady · 25/03/2011 15:50

How dare you. That's me on p.14, that is.

Deliainthemaking · 25/03/2011 15:50

is usually the case

God forbid big boobs are seen that arent fake

rookiemater · 25/03/2011 15:54

I do quite like their catalogue though as their models are refreshingly curvy i.e. fairly normal though slim sizes with non air brushed tummys and hips.

I went into their new clothes shop in Edinburgh, sadly the clothes are fairly rubbish, lots of cheap clingy polyester, with non cheap prices and funny high up waist lines that made me look 6 months pregnant, but I do love the lingerie shop they are so friendly.

livingindc · 25/03/2011 15:54

Thank God frankly.

changeforthebetter · 25/03/2011 15:57

rookiemater peppapig range thank you for brightening my afternoon Smile.

I've always thought their clothes were a bit vile (apart from the odd shit hot red dress for which I no longer have the figure) Their Pure bra is good though.

I get very irked by supposed "curvy" bras that stop at a puny F Hmm

Deliainthemaking · 25/03/2011 16:01

whats the matter livingindc

makes you feel inadequate?

rookiemater · 25/03/2011 16:01

I have just checked my catalogue it is pepperberry I mean what sort of made up name is that?

I do like their bras, so much more flattering to be a 34DD than a 36D, DH likes the idea too!

kittybuttoon · 25/03/2011 16:08

The peppapig collection looks as if it's designed to attract attention to the bazumas, rather than just provide well-tailored clothes that don't gape. Hence those weird empire line and cross-over fronts.

Sneaking suspicion here that their designer is a bloke.

Fillybuster · 25/03/2011 16:15

YADNBU. I thought much the same thing when I received my latest catalogue....and at peppapig :)

Acekicker · 25/03/2011 18:10

Ooh haven't looked at the catalogue yet. The new website with the peppapig section is shite though. I wonder if the peppa range is going to go into other stores too, hence the new 'brand' name. I still hold out hope that one day they will do a range with LTS for us tall and buxom ladies.

Do the tankini tops look any longer in the new catalogue? What the fuck is the point in a tankini which leaves a gap between the top and the bottoms exposing precisely the part of me that means I'm looking at frigging tankinis in the first place!

kat2504 · 25/03/2011 18:14

I haven't seen the new catalogue. However Bravissimo models are usually curvy but very slim. That means they may only wear somewhere between a 28 and a 32 at most I reckon. Someone who is a 28DD will have less boobage than a 40C lady, but it will be all in the cup size, rather than just added fat on the top half.

I agree about the tankinis. I got one once and I was disappointed about the gap specially designed to display muffin top to full advantage.

withagoat · 25/03/2011 18:14

then you need eitehr a swimming costume or lands end

OP posts:
Acekicker · 25/03/2011 18:22

Yep - I have ended up with swimming costumes, but I'd rather have a tankini and it seems such a stupid way to design them!

Will look at Lands End...

Acekicker · 25/03/2011 18:26

Hmmm have looked at Lands End and they're definitely better designed tankinis...except that it's all just 'clothes sizes' - the whole reason I go for Bravissimo is I want the bra fitting type tops rather than having to buy an 18 or 20 which is then way too big elsewhere...

The irritating thing with Bravissimo is the staff in the shops agree the tankinis are craply designed but they say they can't seem to get them changed...

Blatherskite · 25/03/2011 18:28

And henceforth it shall be known as....the Peppapig range Grin

PoisoningPigeonsInThePark · 25/03/2011 18:30

Acekicker have a look at one of these:

Tanki

One of the reviewers on another site complained it was exceptionally long - why I went for it though I am only 5 ft 6 inches and it is very long on me.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 25/03/2011 18:47

I agree op they seem to have got smaller and smaller recently completely defeating objective of appealing to larger ladies

flippinada · 25/03/2011 19:03

I love Bravissimo but am not massively impressed with their swimsuit range. Why so many bikinis?

I would love a sexy one piece thats fits over my boobs but their costumes all look frumpy compared to the other stuff.

Love the dresses though, and am massively annoyed that they have stopped doing the classic white shirt. Why??

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 26/03/2011 11:35

thought of this thread today, DH was flicking through the new peppapig range Grin When he realised it was part of the bravissimo stuff he said they looked alot smaller and skinnier than they normally do.

(he also said please don't tell them on mn 'cos they'll think I'm a pervert Grin when I told him about they general consensus)

ZillionChocolate · 26/03/2011 12:30

I think it's perfectly legitimate for Mr Doris to inspect the catalogue.

UnquietDad · 26/03/2011 12:35

I enjoy leafing through DW's Bravissimo catalogue with her consent. She says "pick one out for me that you think I'd like." It was only after a few goes that I worked out she meant the underwear, not the model.

withagoat · 26/03/2011 12:43

i think thats odd making men choose underwear

OP posts:
UnquietDad · 26/03/2011 13:05

She doesn't actually ask me to choose the one she'd wear. Just to give my input.

ZillionChocolate · 26/03/2011 13:24

We like to count the number of times the models appear on each page, and identify how they've changed their hair to disguise that there's only about 5 of them.
