I love reading the last page of a book before I'm finished it.

SueWhite · 26/03/2011 19:53

I love buying things from Primark, and I love how cheap they are. And before you turn your nose up, all mobile phones and I-pods are made by children in the 3rd world working in even worse conditions, and I bet you've got one of those.

Father Ted isn't funny [ducks]

boosmummie · 26/03/2011 20:20

Sue Father Ted is not funny - agreed!!

And quick growing expensive to clothe because of this children makes me grateful for Primark. I only wish it had been around when DCs 1, 2 & 3 were small...

MoonGirl1981 · 26/03/2011 20:27

I get a real kick out of sniping people on ebay. Just done it now. Feeling very pleased with myself!!

Must get out more...........!

boosmummie · 26/03/2011 20:35

Grin MoonGirl

spiderslegs · 26/03/2011 20:56

God Moon, I love sniping, 'tis the only way to ebay, I only ever bid in the last 11 seconds and get unreasonably irritated at people who bid when the auction has three days to go, well done people, excellent way to push the price up, grrr.

Oh, & educational jargon, my son is not on a learning journey, he made a mud pie, which is great, life is a learning journey FFS.

MoonGirl1981 · 26/03/2011 21:00

I bid at 26 sceonds.

Used to be 14 seconds but I had an incident once when the page wouldn't load in time!

Oh, the dissapointment.

boosmummie · 26/03/2011 21:03

I am an ebay virgin...... ha so I don't even know what sniping is. Is that the way to go then, once I have popped my ebay cherry?

Learning journey. God that makes me laugh!!! Getting on a plane and flying somewhere - that's a journey??????

FriggFRIGG · 26/03/2011 21:03

im not telling what time i bid.

i refuse to be out sniped...

spiderslegs · 26/03/2011 21:22

& costant FB updates about how fabulous your DCs are & what marvellous times you have, complete with sepia tinged images of your delightfully grubby DCs flaying a rat outside your Airstream trailer.

Salmotrutta · 26/03/2011 21:58

sepia tinged images of your delightfully grubby DCs flaying a rat outside your Airstream trailer. .............. Shock actually flaying?? As in taking the skin off??

hairylights · 26/03/2011 22:06

Probably get flamed for this

If child rearing was so bad (ie "hell") then you'd have given your child up.

spiderslegs · 26/03/2011 22:11

Yes Salmo, 'we're so wholesome we skin vermin, whilst wearing petticoats & Boden applique T-shirts' types, you have no knowledge of them??, they are delightful.

spiderslegs · 26/03/2011 22:41

& killing threds, hate that.

huffythethreadslayer · 26/03/2011 22:58

I am more than middle aged and have a soft top car. Yes it came as part of a mid life crisis. I like it, so tough shite if you think it's lame.

Trashy novels are way more fun than serious literature

I hate the X Factor...and boy bands...and middle of the road music.

I'll take Lidls over Ocado/Waitrose any day

Argos is not a bad place for buying gifts for people

I don't like dogs in the school playground. You can tell me til you're blue in the face that kids love dogs and they should get used to them. Should they bollox? It's a school playground! It should be safe for kids to use and mine doesn't like poxy dogs jumping up at her.

huffythethreadslayer · 26/03/2011 23:00

On Ebay I bid as much as I'm willing to pay for something as soon as I see it. If you snipe me, you pay £1 more than I ever would have. Good for you :)

I get what I want eventually as the things I bid on crop up regularly. I play a long game. I don't need to sprint at the end cos I'm running a marathon, rather than a sprint :)

huffythethreadslayer · 26/03/2011 23:05

I like reading threads after I've posted. Then I add more to what I've said. I know it makes me look quite t**tish, but I don't care.

And I loved Father Ted. I won't speak ill of the dead....

spiderslegs · 26/03/2011 23:19

I love Father Ted - 'That one's small, that one's far away'..............

I don't have aTV - I hate it, wine & fags are infinately more entertaining.

Hippies make me want to hack their hair & skirts off & wash their children.

MrsSparkle · 27/03/2011 12:19

I have out - sniped the snipers on ebay beforeGrin Say the currant price is £5.00, well it usually says "enter £5.20 or more" or thereabouts. I have put in £10.00 as my maximum bid, way more then the currant price. The price won't then go up to £10.00, it usually goes up 20/50p at a time when people bid and they are never the highest bidder until they have reached my maximum bid iyswim.

Then when the bidders come along at the last minute, it never says "enter £10 or more" which is my maximum bid, it say "enter £5.20 or more" or whatever so they bid say £7.00 at the last second but because they haven't outbidded my maximum bid, they lose. Oh it is so satifiying!Grin

When you look and see someone bid 30 seconds before the end and didn't bid higher then me because i have bid really high! Then i only end up paying 20p more then their maximum bidWink

boosmummie · 29/03/2011 15:19

Have none of you got anything outrageously unpopular to say......Grin I need some light entertainment, come on!!!!

ipswichwitch · 29/03/2011 16:08

i like murder she wrote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Salmotrutta · 29/03/2011 17:25

I think it's perfectly OK to survive on unhealthy snack meals and do no hardly any housework at all when your DH is away and let your DS fry all his meals.

Hi boo!

YouTry · 29/03/2011 17:31

I think some mothers of small babies make a big deal of how they "won't" do something e.g. nap in the buggy, wait for a feed, take a bottle etc, go to bed at 7. Have you actually tried? How many times? Once? That's not trying!

BootyMum · 29/03/2011 17:59

Sparkle I am new to ebay and slowly getting addicted... [on a par with MN Grin] Just wanted to ask you, when do you bid and then put in your maximum bid - at which stage in the auction? I have missed out on a couple of things because I have been sniped at the last moment... But also don't want to get bidding war started too early [automatically via my maximum bid or manually by me entering incrementally higher bids] and then price of item goes much higher...
What do you do? [If you can bear to share your trade secrets!]

Sorry to highjack thread but intrigued...
