To want to wear stockings instead of tights ?

My DH and I are going to a fancy dress party and its based on the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I want to wear stockings as they look the part but DH thinks they make me look sluttish and says he will feel embarassed. From a nothing type bit of banter it is now getting a bit more 'serious' and he now says if I wear them he won't go.

Should I concede or make a stand ?

Surely the whole point of a Rocky Horror fancy dress party is to look sluttish... isn't it?

I assume he'll be going in a pair of white y-fronts and a lab coat?

Nothing like this has ever cropped up before. I've sometimes worn short stuff in the summer when we go out together and he's never complained, in fact quite the opposite.

Its so out of character it makes me wonder if he is projecting a little.

Could you get some of those tights that look like stockings?

your DH should know you well enough to you are not 'sluttish' so he should have no problem with you wearing whatever you want for a fancy dress event where others will be wearing similar.

The man's an idiot. RH is about looking sluttish ffs! If you dont look sluttish then you really will look stupid! :o

Tell DH that is the whole point of RH sluttish but tounge in cheek!! It's menat to be risque but fun.

Thinking about it, is this perhaps not so much that he thinks you will look stupid or whatever but because he thinks that you will look very sexy and doesnt like the idea of other men ogling you?

FWIW, I always wear stockings out. I tend to rip tights when drunk taking them down to wee all night

You could go as Janet in a Boden respectable outfit. You'd be in a minority and would def stand out

If he's going as Brad then you should go as Janet. Get out your M&S white undies and a lab coat...... then flirt outrageously with the bloke dressed as Rocky
