I am a bit Hmm and Confused

Does this kind of miss the point? Or am I over thinking?

Oh, should say I have no probs with buying of red noses, antlery things, teeshirts, etc.
This was other high street

Maybe the child owns nothing red.... We struggled with that one this morning!

Pagwatch · 18/03/2011 10:28

If she is buying a red nose t-shirt then that is a donation. If they are collecting contributions for children to dress up then that is another donation.

Do you think it should be sack cloth and ashes only?

Pagwatch · 18/03/2011 10:29

You are over thinking. And being a bit snotty and pious too.

Desperateforthinnerthighs · 18/03/2011 10:32

Overthinking!!! Up to her at the end of the day. Luckily my DS has loads of red clothes but if he hadnt I would have gone and bought some. Not whole outfit though but different for boys....maybe I would have done for a girl, who knows. Her business anyway!

nethunsreject · 18/03/2011 10:33

Oh, I am snooty. No doubt about that. Sneering class me. Grin

Fair enough.

I brought ds1 a whole outfit including shoes. he owns nothing red you see

official red nose t-shirt £6
red h+m trousers £7
red h+m converse type shoes £7

what's the harm in spending £20? He will wear it all again im sure.

I can spend my cash how i please no?

nethunsreject · 18/03/2011 10:33

Actually, just realised we had to buy a red top last year...oops.

DD said she had nothing red to wear. I pointed out the redness of her school uniform cardigan. She quickly discovered several other red items in her wardrobe.

mankyscotslass · 18/03/2011 10:37

I had to buy my 3 red stuff too.

They had absolutely nothing red and white,(the colour is banned in our house) Grin

The theme was where's wally.

nethunsreject · 18/03/2011 10:39

Aye, red banned here too - too many washing day disasters.

Ours have gone to school wearing something funny. So DD has gone dressed as a bunny (a funny bunny actually!) and I only had to buy a bobtail and DS has gone as a clown. I bought the red nose and wig. I went to a lot of effort stitching pom poms onto an old top for him and making him a bow tie.

Lots of kids there this morning though in dressing up outfits and I'm sure some of them had been bought specially.

Doesn't really bother me. Both my DC look great and they were pleased with what we'd done to make their outfits.

nethunsreject · 18/03/2011 10:41

It was 'something funny' here too this year, which pleased me as I could avoid The Evil Red. He's dressed as a pirate.

OP posts:
Hullygully · 18/03/2011 10:44

It is disgusting and plain wrong

nethunsreject · 18/03/2011 10:45

Lol, Hully. Grin

Yes, yes. OKay!

OP posts:
coccyx · 18/03/2011 10:49

Have to ask whats funny about a pirate?

nethunsreject · 18/03/2011 10:50

He's 4.

He thinks pirates are funny.

Hmm

Go figure.

OP posts:
SunshineOnARainyDay · 18/03/2011 10:51

It's funny because kids don't usually go to school dressed as a pirate!! I bet he looks fab nethunsreject Smile

Hullygully · 18/03/2011 10:52

Wooden legs are funny.

nethunsreject · 18/03/2011 10:52

Ah,Sunshine, I see you can understand the mind of a kid better than me, lol! Grin

OP posts:
worraliberty · 18/03/2011 10:53

Lol my son's uniform is red..well the tops are anyway.

He went to school wearing a pair of duck slippers, curly red wig and red nose Grin

SunshineOnARainyDay · 18/03/2011 10:53

sometimes, only sometimes Grin

exhausted2011 · 18/03/2011 10:54

I bought DS a whole "woody" outfit, for their dress up day today.
If they have to get dressed up, and they don't have the right thing, most people would buy something.
what was she buying exactly?

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 18/03/2011 10:55

Actually I think YANBU, surely it would have been better to dress the child in something you had and donate the money?Confused.
