... my dear Mum still grabs my hand if we cross a road together.Grin. Funnily enough am sure I mastered this at 7 but evidently Mum thinks otherwise.

FamilyCircus · 06/03/2011 19:19

Grin That is lovely actually.

MumInBeds · 06/03/2011 19:22

Ha! I say sorry to my 11.5y/o son when I do that to him.

Hatesponge · 06/03/2011 19:22

I do this to both my boys (but they are only 9 and 12).

However I have been known to do it to my friends too Blush

Zippylovesgeorge · 06/03/2011 19:23

Its what Mums do.

My Gran always asks my Mum if she needs the loo when they are out together!

My late Grandpa always wanted to treat my Mum to sweets when they were out too.

My Mum is now 61!!

ilovemydogandMrObama · 06/03/2011 19:23

as long as she doesn't do the spit on the Kleenex thing Wink

StealthPolarBear · 06/03/2011 19:24

so does mine :) I'm 32
Went through a phase of being annoying, but now I just laugh

ilovemyhens · 06/03/2011 19:25

ha, ha, I wish my mother was the type to do this. She'd be more likely to push me in front of the bloody vehicle! Confused

StealthPolarBear · 06/03/2011 19:25

"My Gran always asks my Mum if she needs the loo when they are out together!"
Lol that's hilarious. Does she follow up with "We're going to be in the car for the next hour so have a little try now"? as I do to DS :o

FourFortyFour · 06/03/2011 19:26

Yep, when I had to do a sharp stop I put our my arm to stop my friend and husband (yes, I have done it twice Hmm) gong through the windscreen.

worraliberty · 06/03/2011 19:28

That's classic OP and I love the story about the Mum and Gran too Grin

My dad always shouts "Mind the road!" when I'm going out and I'm almost 42 Blush

5inthebed · 06/03/2011 19:29

My mam gives me her change to give to charity collectores and buskers when we are out together.

I have been known, when out without my dogs, to stop at the kerb and tell whoever happens to be with me to 'sit!'

StealthPolarBear · 06/03/2011 19:32

"My mam gives me her change to give to charity collectores and buskers when we are out together."
hahahahaha I hope you always get a sticker

Riddo · 06/03/2011 19:34

My Mum still does this - I'm 45 too but I take it as a sign that she cares about me.

5inthebed · 06/03/2011 19:36

Oh always Stealth Grin

CharlieCoCo · 06/03/2011 19:42

my dad is the opposite, im 30 and met up with him in london a few months back in the city at lunchtime and as a bus and cab were coming both sides of the road he grabbed my arm and shouted "run" and dragged me across the road. my heart was in my mouth

DillyDaydreaming · 06/03/2011 19:50

It's quite sweet really. When we last picked up DS from school together she bought sweets for him, her me and my sister who is a teaching assistant at the school. Much mirth about Mum meeting my sister from school with sweets.

No thank GOD she no longer does the "spit on the kleenex" thing. Even worse I now do it and DS goes apoplectic. I got "fired" as his mother last time I did that but he'd reinstated me by the time we reached the shop and a magazine was on offer Grin

Oooh my dm and I do this - but then we're happy walking around hand in hand. I love it.

But mum does know I can cross roads and she's a pretty good road crosser herself.

shoshe · 06/03/2011 19:51

I did this to Ds last week, he is 32 Blush

DDIL thought it was hilarious, DS didnt.

shoshe · 06/03/2011 19:52

agedknees · 06/03/2011 19:53
