AIBU to think that a 3,5 year old shouldn't have his own IPad?

I'm a nanny. I just started my new job last Monday, I look after a boy who is 3,5 years old and has his own IPad and is allowed to play with it every day when he wants to. AIBU for thinking that a 3,5 year old shouldn't have his own IPad or play with it at all?! P.S: He can't dress himself though but uses his IPad without any problems at all :D

We bought an iPad for our dd's 1st birthday

BLoody brilliant piece of technology. Before we got it she had serious fine motor delays, soundtouch and peekaboo barn helped her learn to point, and dancing baby taught her about turn taking.

Everything in moderation, you need to talk to the parents if you are uncomfortable with it. But I do think they are great technology, not just for sn kids like mine.

I's be more concerned about a Nanny who I employ gossiping about me and my child on a website instead of asking me herself.

OP I think your problem is that you don't have a well defined job. If Mum is there all / a lot of the time that you are working as a Nanny; then you need to discuss who is in charge and exactly what your roles and responsibilities are. If you are a Nanny, not a Mother's Help, then I would expect you to be in charge of the child, and the one who determines what he does. You do need to discuss this with the mother, as there is no point in employing you (especially if you are a trained professional) if she is not going to trust your judgement and leave you in control.

The iPad is a symptom. They can be useful in certain situations, but the days routine needs to be determined by you, with regard to your charge's needs. Some iPad time could be part of this.
