to expect not to be sent ebay items encrusted with sick?

so i seem to be finding the quality of things ebayers send out is sliding since buying stuff for baby due shortly

first was the cradel swing with bits of food and dust all over it (showing the as new condition advertised off to perfection) - kept that as it was easier to clean it than send it back

than there was the smoke coverd footmuff - that went back was from a non smoking home btw

then there was the bugaboo changing bag as new - with a big hole in the bottom!

now i got a bundle of excellent condition only worn once or twice items posted 3 weeks after sale and 1/4 were binworthy with stains immediatly the rest were musty smelling, bobbly and some were caked in sick ive done 4 loads of washing trying to some salvage items

aibu to think people should take more pride in what they send out i sell and all items are cleaned and checked before sending with faults listed i would be ashamed to send items out people felt they had to scub before using whilst claming they are in excellent condition

Leave them v negative feedback. You are not being unreasonable to expect goods to be as advertised! Shock

Macdog · 03/03/2011 18:40

YANBU

That is vile [boak]

saffy85 · 03/03/2011 18:42

Disgusting! Shock Hope you've demanded a refund and left negative feedback!

TheSydenhamSet · 03/03/2011 18:46

I bought a play gym for my ds. As soon as I opened the bag it stank of cats and was covered in cat hair. Absolutely minging and no way I would let my baby anywhere nr it and didn't even want to chuck it in the wash. Shocked at some people's 'standards'.

OTTMummA · 03/03/2011 18:47

YADNBU, leave negative feedback, shame them!
I once recieved a activity sit in thing for DS on ebay covered in dried on food and stains in the seat!
I complained the the seller, and she had the balls to tell me my son would end up getting sick because i was a clean freak and i must have OCD!
errr, "NO LOVE, your just a dirty mare" is all about i could send back.

Some people just ming

pigletmania · 03/03/2011 18:54

Some people are just disgusting with no pride at all, YADNBU clothes caked in sick Envy thats boak emotion btw.

nameinuse · 03/03/2011 18:59

glad im not the only one it pisses me off that i spent time making sure items i sell are in good condition whilst some people just stick things in a binbag and send it out do they genuinly not relie that people dont want to recive stuff like that and its not in excellent condition?

i will leave bad feedback - its there first selling feedback so i feel a bit bad but there you go i feel reciving a jacket with sick all down the front was a negative experience
might request a partial refund a i can only use part of the item iyswim

theagedparent · 03/03/2011 19:24

I have had a few things that stink of fags and also some maternity jeans that smelled of dirty fanny! Horrible x

MissyKLo · 03/03/2011 19:28

I take pride in my excellent eBay rating and would never ever send crappy, dirty items out and will always be honest about the condition of things so no yanbu

I have a lovely condition baby walker for sale btw! Grin

pigletmania · 03/03/2011 19:31

Exactly MissyK, if its bad then I bin it.

atiat · 03/03/2011 19:44

I bought a re-usable nappies from ebay, the seller mentioning that they hasnt been used but once received they had the dog hair all over them, it was a really discusting, I left a negatif feedback, specially i never used re-usebale nappies and that use the first try,

readywithwellies · 03/03/2011 19:50

So you sniffed the crotch of said maternity jeans, now that is what is rank.

readywithwellies · 03/03/2011 19:51

Some people would pay extra for fanny smells on their jeans, type in used tights and see what comes up, light entertainment for all (not sure what is on there right now mind you)

OTTMummA · 03/03/2011 19:52

I only sell stuff that i would buy 2nd hand myself, and always wash clothes in fairy non bio when they have been in the loft for a while etc.
Some people just are dirty beggars though and do not see it as a problem, they think that they have done YOU a favour for some reason.

ohIamshafted · 03/03/2011 19:52

I got a jumparoo from Gumtree and it literally STANK of smoke, had to wash it and febreze it repeatedly to get the smell out.

foreverondiet · 03/03/2011 19:53

I just bought a tripp trapp chair advertised as being in good condition when its in really poor condition. Its going back.

atiat · 03/03/2011 19:55

i think that just me been too much, as i washed the nappies nearly 10 times with boilling hot water, than put them in the waching mashing with a non bio, and go through one by one, to make sure they are very clean, but i am still thinking should i used them or not, as my baby not born yet.

FabbyChic · 03/03/2011 19:59

You arent supposed to be able to buy used nappies on eBay. Seriously never understood why people would buy used instead of new, these things go on your babies bottom.
