I think it is too hard to rehome an animal

I bought a puppy a few months ago and I really love him - he was the right choice for us. He cost £100.

He was vacc's and I will pay to have him castrated soon.

He has been such a success that I have been looking into getting him a companion. I would like to help a dog and rescue them but they want stupid amounts of money and loads of home vists.

I am just put off, and it is a shame because I could easily home another dog and give him a good life.

I think I will just buy another puppy I am afraid.

no not on the sauce Sad, feel as though i should be though. might understand your lack of logic a bit better.

Vallhala · 03/03/2011 02:39

I didn't say that... I said that "at the moment rescue would be utterly correct in turning you down".

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 03/03/2011 02:40

No - you had one home visit.

and you "couldn't be arsed"...........I thought you wanted another dog???????

SuperHans · 03/03/2011 02:40

Let's all be friends - I love dogs - you love dogs.

I'm just new at this.

OP posts:
BooyFuckingHoo · 03/03/2011 02:41

"they asked me to consider another dog but then I broke my arm and couldn't be arsed."

and this is the committed attitude you have towards bringing a new life into your home for the rest of it's days? Shock

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 03/03/2011 02:42

You love dogs so much it took your 4 months to decide to start looking at insurance to ensure that if you animal is ill you don't have to pay out as much money - yeah right.

OK - if you're loaded with cash fair enough - but if money is tight utterly stupid not to have to have got it from the word go.

SuperHans · 03/03/2011 02:43

oh BooFuckingHoo - Try breaking your arm and having a 7 year old's BDay party to organise - I'm human.

Not some dog rescue-ing superwoman.

OP posts:
BooyFuckingHoo · 03/03/2011 02:45

not being arsed is different to not having time. you said you couldn't be arsed. i can only respond to what you post, not what you mean to post.

SuperHans · 03/03/2011 02:45

Baroque - you are right - I need insurance

OP posts:
Vallhala · 03/03/2011 02:45

I'm looking for a brick wall to bang my head against but all those I come across seem to be extraordinarily dented already.

SuperHans · 03/03/2011 02:47

BFH - with a broken arm and a 7 year old's bday party I could not be arsed/didn't have the resources for a rescue dog.

OP posts:
SuperHans · 03/03/2011 02:47

Val - why are you still angry?

OP posts:
BaroqueAroundTheClock · 03/03/2011 02:48
Confused

What has organising a 7yr olds birthday party and breaking you arm got to do with you "not being arsed" to do anything about rescuing a dog that you apparently are so desperate to have?

You could have done it afterwards if it was really too difficult............although as you have a dog already then presumably you managed to look after one animal with a broken arm and a 7yr old's birthday party to sort.

Actually why do you need both arms to organise a birthday party??????

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 03/03/2011 02:49

Yes but you love dogs SO much that you've spent 4 months with a dog that you had no way of paying for if it became ill or was injured in an accident!

Vallhala · 03/03/2011 02:49

Let's just hope then that your child's next birthday doesn't coincide with a need for your dog to be treated at the vets for fear that the same applies.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 03/03/2011 02:49

Val - if you nip to the 24th Tesco for some filter tips for me I'll fix your wall while you're gone Grin

SuperHans · 03/03/2011 02:51

No, you are confused. this is in response to Va's query about the Mayhew. It was 4 years ago and I broke my arm and felt I could not take on a dog at that time.

I would not have been able to walk it.

OP posts:
Vallhala · 03/03/2011 02:52

I'm no longer angry, Hans, I'm bored.

I have a low tolerance level for human beings and besides I have heard it all so many times before.

Vallhala · 03/03/2011 02:53

You walk on your arm? :o

SuperHans · 03/03/2011 02:53

It's SuperHans actually.

OP posts:
BaroqueAroundTheClock · 03/03/2011 02:54

This was 4 Years ago - WTF?

So why are you still complaining about it now

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 03/03/2011 02:55

But what will you do if you break your arm now - with a puppy - will you not be able to walk it???

Vallhala · 03/03/2011 02:55

Whats a 24 hr Tesco Baroque?

We have one shop here. Closes at 8 during the week and 2pm at weekends.

Tis a bugger!

SuperHans · 03/03/2011 02:56

No, I do not walk on my arm, but I did not think it was the right time to have a new, rescue dog when I had a broken arm.

I think Baby P's mother got less of a grilling that I am getting.

OP posts:
Vallhala · 03/03/2011 02:57

"Its SuperHans actually"

When I find what's so super about it, I'll address it as such.

Regards, Vallhala-Goddess-Of-The-Late-Hour, actually. :o
