It's not on, is it? I feel like someone has pulled a giant Scampi Fries packet down over my face.

Spark up a cigarette to cover the smell Grin

kreecherlivesupstairs · 02/03/2011 12:24

You don't work with DH do you? He took a salmon lasagne in for lunch.

LucretiaInShadows · 02/03/2011 12:24

Barf.

LessNarkyPuffin · 02/03/2011 12:25

ladyfirenze · 02/03/2011 12:26

salmon lasagne? wtf...

BarbaraBar · 02/03/2011 12:27

Lol @ worra.

Alternatively you could get some really stinky cheese and leave it out on your desk overnight so it's nice and pungent in the morning.

Are you any good at smelly farts?

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 02/03/2011 12:27

god, YANBU
i just had a horrid olfactory flashback to an old colleague who used to heat up smoked mackeral EVERY SODDING DAY.

squeakytoy · 02/03/2011 12:27

Very inconsiderate to others.

shesparkles · 02/03/2011 12:27

I used to work with a guy who took great delight in stinking the place out with fish and cabbage at 3am during a nightshift mealbreak [barf]

YANBU!

thenightsky · 02/03/2011 12:28

I once worked with a woman who brought in last night's curry to heat up for breakfast.

LadyWellian · 02/03/2011 12:32

Kreecher not unless he commutes to London!

It's just getting worse and worse.

Glad there is no cabbage involved though. [bright side emoticon]

no, someone's done it here to. not open plan office but in small kitchen couple of doors down!

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 02/03/2011 12:37

Disciplinary issue IMO.

HR!

(Wonder if I should have a side-rant about the growing acceptability / pressure to eat lunch at desk and work through. Remember I work from home and doesn't have to deal with that shit any more Grin)

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 02/03/2011 12:37

don't FFS.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 02/03/2011 12:39

I wondered why he asked where his passport was.

OTheHugeManatee · 02/03/2011 12:39

I don't even need to read beyond to thread title to say YADNBU.

privategodfrey · 02/03/2011 12:40

Glad there is no cabbage involved though

We have a pregnant woman in our office who eats braised cabbage every day for her lunch.

The first time I didn't realise the awful smell was somebodies lunch and exclaimed "jaysus, who's just shat themselves"

Blush
LadyWellian · 02/03/2011 12:41

Grin Kreecher.

HR are on the floor below, so they probably don't care.

Unless you were suggesting I call Haddock Removal, which might be just what is required!

Do you work where I work???

Monday was particularly stinky here. I sit right by the kitchen area and have to plug a USB fan into my monitor to keep a stream of fresh(er) air going otherwise I would have to vomit!

Agree it's not on!

MissJanuary · 02/03/2011 13:07

MadreInglese · 02/03/2011 13:09

poochela · 02/03/2011 13:19

whats wrong with heating up last nights curry for breakfast? Thats part of the joy, surely? I purposely over order to make sure theres enough leftovers for brekky! But then, I work from home so it doesnt really matter I spose.

Oblomov · 02/03/2011 13:20

Oh i am guilty.take lots of things into work. last nights dinner. pasta. sausages and mash. someone had one of those tesco's chilli pasta readymeals and we all proclaimed how lovely it smelt as it wafted by.
But we are all foodies. we talk about food quite a bit. 40 our us on oyur floor in an open plan office. as soon as sandwiches coem out of board room they are pounced on. and we regularly have cakes.
day off today. ds2 chicken pox. now starving. off for stinky lunch.

Oblomov · 02/03/2011 13:21
