YY! Burn letter. Letter never arrived. Look up results online at 5pm. Be indignant about non-arrival of letter for a couple of days, and then allow whole episode to fade from memory.

Hullygully · 01/03/2011 14:39

It's a letter direct from the school (additional to council letter) with test results. She'll know. I think the dog paws and cake will work. They'll have to.

When I were a lass, not so very long ago, I'm sure there was none of this malarkey. We just went t' school down t' road.

Hullygully · 01/03/2011 14:43

When I were a lass my mum sent me to do the scholarship exam for a private school about which none of us new nowt. She worried mostly about what coat I should wear. When I turned up I looked at the paper, laughed, and went and sat on the steps outside to wait for her. Ahhh. Pore ol me.

When I were young the pit ponies would draw out equations with their hooves in the coal dust for us to learn maths...happy days!

Pagwatch · 01/03/2011 14:46

When I were a lass I got on the bus to go to the big comp a few miles away and arrived to see a pupil chasing a teacher with a hammer. I hid for the next few years.
Didn't do me any harm.

outed! damn woman, outed!

Actually, got that despite being a girl. must sort! (not really luxuriant however, more bag of revels than godiva chocolates)

BeribbonedGibbon · 01/03/2011 15:37

When I was young I got teased relentlessly by kids from local schools as I made my way on two buses to my catholic school. Pulling a piano accordion on an old granny shopping trolly type thing, complete with elasticated luggage straps, did not help my cause.

I didn't stand a chance.

BeribbonedGibbon · 01/03/2011 15:42

The braces and demi wave (that went wrong) did not help.

Not that I'm scarred or anything.

MadameDefarge · 01/03/2011 15:43

but look at you now!

BeribbonedGibbon · 01/03/2011 15:52

MadameDefarge · 01/03/2011 16:05

Is it too soon to start drinking? (not cocktails, obviously. have learnt my lesson there)
