I am always up first and I keep telling DW to make the bed when she gets up,she never does. So now I only make my half of the bed.

AIBU?

YANBU because she won't care. If she cared about having a made bed, she'd make it.

reelingintheyears · 19/02/2011 19:38

Nope.

thisisyesterday · 19/02/2011 19:38

you keep telling her to make the bed?

what, cos she is your housekeeper or something? Hmm

nickytwotimes · 19/02/2011 19:39

how do you make half a bed?!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 19/02/2011 19:39

If you're a woman then no, of course you're NBU... but if you're a man, then you are and you will be disemboweled and shredded shortly. Grin

AmazingBouncingFerret · 19/02/2011 19:39

YANBU. I would do the same to DH but the sight of the messy half a bed would do my head in. You are obviously made of sterner stuff.

Normantebbit · 19/02/2011 19:39

Why do you make your bed at all?

MissyKLo · 19/02/2011 19:40

I think he tells her to make the bed cause she gets up after him - nowt wrong with him asking that?!

Yanbu!

CarGirl · 19/02/2011 19:41

I quite happily make all the bed whilst dh battles getting 3 dc dressed and breakfasted.

ChildofIsis · 19/02/2011 19:41

Didn't you know that it's best to let the bed air until at least lunchtime?

Average human perspiration at night is one and a half pints!

Maybe she likes her side dry!

fivegomadindorset · 19/02/2011 19:41

Would twin beds solve the issue better?

MissyKLo · 19/02/2011 19:42

Sorry if I assumed you were a man if you are a lady - it's not very clear!

thisisyesterday · 19/02/2011 19:43

he isn't asking her anything, he's telling her

and i'm afraid he has no right to tell his wife to do anything.
if he wants the bed made he can make it... or does he come down in the morning and then never ever set foot in the room again til nighttime?

reelingintheyears · 19/02/2011 19:43

OOOOOHHHH...
A dry side of the bed..

LUSH.

Swap sides anyone??

ChippyMinton · 19/02/2011 19:43

Do you make your side while she is still in the bed Confused?

And what childofisis said. To air is human Wink

tigerchilli · 19/02/2011 19:44

I prefer to 'turn the bed back' in order to 'air' it for a couple of hours.

Oops just seen previous poster. Grin

nikki1978 · 19/02/2011 19:44

Making beds is bad

manicbmc · 19/02/2011 19:45

Why don't you try asking instead of telling? And is it really that big a deal anyway?

Choufleur · 19/02/2011 19:45

DH never makes the bed if he's the last one out. Drives me nuts. I tell him frequently to do it but he just ignores me.

ChildofIsis · 19/02/2011 19:47

Is there something you'd like to share with us Reeling?

It's my birthday nexr week so I'm hopefull of a reason to air the bed!!!!

reelingintheyears · 19/02/2011 19:48

Nothing worse than a 'wet patch'. Grin

Scrumpet · 19/02/2011 19:48

Ohhh, ha ha, I've been known to make my side of the bed when dh is still in it. That's because he thinks it's reasonable to stay in it until after lunchtime at a weekend when I'm shopping/washing clothes.

I excelled myself this morning by asking 14 times if I thought I was annoying by shouting up the stairs.

He loves me really Wink

reelingintheyears · 19/02/2011 19:49

The shape of Africa....

BeenBeta · 19/02/2011 19:49

YABVU and really quite skanky!

Beds should be left back to air until after lunch.

CuppaTeaJanice · 19/02/2011 19:50

Have you got some wierd 1950s style bed with sheets and blankets and one of those candlewick bedspreads? Cos surely most modern beds just require you to straighten out the duvet a bit, hardly something that necessitates housework conflict or threads on mumsnet!
