DTD aka BD aka SEX

EricNorthmansMistress · 19/02/2011 17:32

DTD
BD

STOP IT

It is sex. Having sex. Screwing, fucking, shagging, making lurve. Sex has three letters, one more than BD, and the same as DTD. Although you have to stick your finher on the shift key for DTD and BD making them more labour intensive than writing sex.

Please, please stop it. If you are old enough to have sex, you are old enough to type the word on an anonymous internet forum. I appreciate that TTCers have their own language which is fine but on the main boards, it offends me, and hurts my eyes. Please stop.

Does not compute Confused

No idea what those abbreviations mean. Know what sex is though. Grin

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 19/02/2011 17:41

BD = Baby dancing?

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 19/02/2011 17:41

DTD = Doing The Dirty?

Sassybeast · 19/02/2011 17:43

Oh have some babydust and stop being so grumpy Grin

seaweedhead · 19/02/2011 17:44

Agreed. It takes me a while to figure things out as it is without people using abbreviations for very short words as well!

ImFab · 19/02/2011 17:45

Doing The Deed FYI.

yogididabooboo · 19/02/2011 17:46

oh my word do adults really use such terms?

in which case yanbu.

manicbmc · 19/02/2011 17:47

Are these people the Stepford wives? Sounds very odd for a grown up to be using such phrases.

EricNorthmansMistress · 19/02/2011 18:05

No, there are people who type this in their MN posts in all seriousness, outside of conception. Mind boggles.

SoupDragon · 19/02/2011 18:06

I assumed it was to avoid getting flagged up on firewalls/internet security stuff at work.

ChaoticAngelofAnarchy · 19/02/2011 18:11

I know DTD although I wouldn't type it, (other than is this instance before someone points out I have). Is BD baby dancing as OldLadyKnowsNothing has put? Confused

hairylights · 19/02/2011 18:12

so glad you excused those of us who are trying to TTC, OP :)

Bearcrumble · 19/02/2011 18:15

I thought DTD was "Dear Twin Daughters".

HATE the term baby dancing.

Ariesgirl · 19/02/2011 18:17

Baby dancing makes me vomit. Worse still is when it is used in books about TTC. Yes, actual publications.

Bogeyface · 19/02/2011 18:22

I thought BD was bed dancing, which is ok ish but baby dancing is gross.

Asteria · 19/02/2011 18:22

Oh my lord! Someone out there actually calls it Baby Dancing? That just conjures up images of the Evian advert!! The only acceptable sexual abbreviations are S&M and BDSM Grin

EricNorthmansMistress · 19/02/2011 18:54

Hairy - :) I mean on the conception board I believe you have your own 'dialect' which may or may not include DTD/BD but since I don't go on your board I have no right to an opinion on it! I really object to those terms creeping into MN general parlance however.

Totally Eric

I really meant that I'm genuinely glad you did excuse us - having had various issues, I now find myself having sex instead of SWI (Sex with Intent) as I'm having a break from TTC. so you are right - for us there is a difference.

I also agree with you in that all the 'fluffy' names for having sex are a bit silly :)

(woops - have I now brought the dialect over here?)

DaffadownDilly · 19/02/2011 20:08

Grin @ DTD, I too guessed Dear twin daughters.

BD is ewww. Evian ad is apt.

RevoltingPeasant · 19/02/2011 20:13

Asteria Grin

Yeah I also clicked on this thread expecting sex with twins to feature prominently.

I feel cheated Angry

MogadoredMemoo · 19/02/2011 20:21

But my mum always told me if I say the S word I will go blind Sad

Bogeyface · 19/02/2011 20:40

I give in. What does BDSM stand for?!

Kerrianne · 19/02/2011 20:43

I've never seen these weird acronyms thank god Confused

RevoltingPeasant · 19/02/2011 20:46

Bogey

bondage - domination - sado-masochism

Bogeyface · 19/02/2011 20:48

Well theres a thing! Thank you for extending my knowledge of all things grubby :o
