I went recently with 6 other adults and 1 year old triplets. We took turns going for activities - did lots of Badminton, dance classes, high ropes, etc. Always met for breakfast and lunch and plenty of Starbucks and proper drinks in the sports bar.

Also saw lots of groups without kids. Think it depends on the activities you do, but we only went to the dreaded pool once in the evening when it was kid free quiet.

Yes my BIL and his long term girlfriend went to centerparcs and they are childfree DH and I thought it was really odd. So many other great places to go why on earth pick one for designed for children?

notyummy · 18/02/2011 18:22

See I can see bOth sides here. As a family we were at one of those Luxury Family Hotels last month, and there were a number of couples there, some tutti g T the kids. Now these places aren't cheap, so why would go when the name suggests that they are aiming at people with children.

On the Disney thing I am the other way round. Dh and u went a decade ago pre dd and had such a fab time. Could go out of season. Went on all the fast rides loads of times. Were able to move quickly round the parks etc

Have taken dd to DLP and will probably do Florida again when she is a bit older- but really glad I did childless first!!

Sorry for the typos. Bloody iPhone.

Guys, don't forget a lot of corporate people go to these places.

My whole team and I had to go to Disneyland to work on a customer service project. 26 of us from all over Europe.

The polish guys went on that space mountain ride so much they were sick on the coach. They are both 40.

I spent the whole time taking notes about the best places to bring my ds and which hotel looked the nicest.

50 of us in total were in Dream Castle Hotel "enjoying" ye olde Tudor buffet every evening.

I felt ....soiled.

I'm not into CParcs, it just seems very overpriced to me, and like Butlins for the middle classes.

Howver, I don't get all the mockery and downright sneering at people who go to Disneyland without children, different strokes and all that.

rookiemater · 19/02/2011 14:53

I can top that. My next door neighbours have been on Disney cruises without their children and also to Disneyland I think. They have been on other occasions and taken the children with them.

Oh btw we went to Center parcs last weekend and whilst it was fab it was more Florence&Fred than Boden.
