BendyBob
Did he sit on santa's knee? (sorry couldn't resist)

I asked DH that as I could not bring myself to ask his mate - just got a funny look in reply so I am none the wiser Grin.

lesley33 · 17/02/2011 18:50

Yes playing in the wave pool.

I don't see anything wrong with adults being playful.

LadyBlaBlah · 17/02/2011 18:52

Women who go on Spa Weekends should be shot, period.

LaWeasel · 17/02/2011 19:04

I don't see what's weird about adults at Disneyland - there are some great rides.

Doesn't mean they give a stuff about Disney!

bigTillyMint · 17/02/2011 19:06

I wouldn't moan about them, but I would think that they were odd.

But nowehere near as odd as the child-free couples / singles (spotters) at Euro Disney Hmm

Malificence · 17/02/2011 19:12

You couldn't pay me enough money to go to Paris Disney

Orlando/Florida is just about my favourite place in the whole world and I've travelled about quite a bit.

I'm secretly hoping DD wants to get married there (if we don't have to pay Wink ).

EnSuiteShed · 17/02/2011 20:41

gobsmacked

SpringHeeledJack · 17/02/2011 21:08

oh Mal I remember the first thread I saw you on

you went into some detail about getting up to what I like to refer to as "all sorts"

[prim]

and then professed your great love for Disney World

I have to admit, I still have some difficulty marrying the two. Exploratory unabashed experimental shagging/Goofy Lodge

SpringHeeledJack · 17/02/2011 21:10

I tell you what about CP. It sucks, it's too expensive and I personally do not "get it"- with or without kinder

but that flume thing that goes outdoors is the most fuuuuuun

HollyGoHeavily · 17/02/2011 21:20

Christonabike - you can get married at Disneyland??? How much do they charge for having Minnie as a bridesmaid?

YABU, Centerparcs are for everyone not kust families. Also I see nothing wrong with adults going to Disney land.

pointydog · 17/02/2011 22:33

ahh, califORnia. Only been to Paree

BonzoDooDah · 17/02/2011 23:08

FFS aren't adults allowed to go for a break where there is a spa, pool, bar, archery, tennis, squash, cycling, horseriding and accomodation all in the same place for a reasonably cheap price???
Bloody hell shall we start banning them from child friendly restaurants, pubs and cinemas too?

legspinner · 18/02/2011 06:56

I've been to Disneyland as an adult without kids, as far as I know lots of grownups without kids do that.
PS loved it...and you won't find me wearing fluffy heart jumpers either

Megatron · 18/02/2011 07:03

It has never been to Disney, Centreparcs or a Spa so perhaps that's why it's never crossed my mind to be so angry at adults going if they haven't produced children. I don't care where other people go to spend their spare time.

Morloth · 18/02/2011 07:22

Shrug, I love Disney and do what I like.

We are like kids with money, a great fun way to be, I don't spend much time worrying about what people are thinking.

Morloth · 18/02/2011 07:26

Last time we went to Disney we stayed at the Grand Californian and I went to the spa there, thus combining two most excellent activities.

Alouiseg · 18/02/2011 07:31

The most heinous crime that is Spa related would be going "Togevva" on Valentines Day for "couples treatments" I was there for some routine maintenance this week and I nearly drowned under the weight of Terry Towelling clad couples...and men can't seem to close their legs whilst wearing a dressing gown Hmm

MordechaiVanunu · 18/02/2011 07:50

Center parcs is unappealing for all ages imo.

I had one friend who went and her DH declared upon returning 'next time Id rather stay at home and burn £500.'

I hate indoors pools withnthat nasty choking chlorine small and the constant echoey noise.

I also hate cycling in th rain which seems to be one of the other main draws from what I can gather.

People tell me the 'kids love it.' I think 'so what, I want a holiday we ALL love.'

I'm with Mal on disney though, wouldn't be paid to go the Euro one, but adore Disney world Florida.

Sunshine and American standards of hospitality combibed with the rides make for a splendid experience.

NOT without kids though.

Kids love it, and we love the sun and nice hotels. That's a holiday.

lesley33 · 18/02/2011 08:37

The last time I went to centreparcs for a weekend I did archery, had a massage, went to the spa, did Tai chi and sailing. there aren't many places you can go to for a weekend and do lots of activities.

I hate shopping and lying by the pool. For main holidays we always go somewhere you can explore and do activities e.g. Jordan. Iceland, etc.

I have been to places like Paris for the weekend, but with the travel there and back, we always come back knackered.

The centreparcs is half an hour drive from us. We can leave after work and be in the spa by 7.30pm. Similarly on a Sunday leave at 9pm. It feels like a good break.

Places like America are not possible on a weekend break. Any adult parties I know that have went to centreparcs go for short weekend or mid week breaks. You can't compare 3 nights away with going abroad to America.

MordechaiVanunu · 18/02/2011 08:56

I hate spas all that forced relaxation makes me tense.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/02/2011 09:12

so, talking about spas - which ones are actually properly any good? (just in case we ever get rich)

EnSuiteShed · 18/02/2011 11:54

OneSpa at Edinburgh Sheraton is good.

MayFair Hotel Spa is good but very small.

Not been but I've heard that the spa a the Intercontinental London Park Lane is good.
