Saw in paper you can select sex of your baby and it's only £14,000. They have been talking about having a girl for a very long time and now it is revealed that they are!I just find it fishy! £14 grand to them is nothing and she could keep trying. AIBU?

Daddysgirl no I'm not a journo, I read the papers! It just kept niggling me and wondered what others thought. Let's face it, she is like a spoilt child herself.

My dad fathered 3 girls including me before he got a son. Him and my stepmum didn't select the gender ever.

Have no idea whether the Beckhams cose the gender or not, it's the name I'm most interested in myself.

I would be absolutely completely amazed if they didn't have gender selection to get a girl.
And no doubt BabyGirl Beckham will be lumbered blessed with another stupid original name.

LoveBeingADaddysGirl · 16/02/2011 14:22

Pmsl @ your knowledge from the papers. It's all true you know Hmm

mayorquimby · 16/02/2011 14:22

"I don't think it is 'just their business' if they did - I think gender selection is immoral."

And a lot of people will think that you have no business trying to apply your morals to other individuals.

Its no ones business and i think its sad that regardless of weather they have a boy or girl ppl are going to be bitching like you op cause if they have a boy ppl will say how disappointed they are and if they have a girl ppl will say oh they paid for it bla bla bla such a lot of tosh just leave them be for goes sake! They obviously love and adore the beautiful children they've been blessed with and im sure they will this baby too its just such a lot of crap ppl talk over them, get over it for sods sake

I have three boys, wouldn't choose the sex even if i could for the next baby - why does everyone assume they would? Just because of an aside comment she once made to a paper that it would be nice to have a girl? Poor VB, she can't win either way.

My gran had three girls then four boys. DH's gran had four girls then a boy. The possibilities are endless really, but if she has a girl everyone will assume she engineered it. Don't think it's immoral anyway - read Half The Sky and the horrendous stories in there of terminations of female foetuses and neglect of daughters worldwide, then tell me if you really think this compares.

DaisyDaresYOU · 16/02/2011 16:08

I don't agree with Gender Selection but just because they had 3boys doesnt mean they can't concieve a girl.My dp has 4boys including our ds,when I was preg with his 5th his delightful sis said(out of the blue)" dp can only produce boys if you want a girl you will have to find someone else".We had a dd.My gosh I couldn't wait to tell her

TrillianAstra · 16/02/2011 16:14

Very reasoned responses in the face of a shit-stirrer who almost seems to be carrying a personal grudge.

Well done everyone.

OP what does it matter to you what sex someone else's unborn child is, or how that was achieved?
