.. My darling and generous DH 'forgot' my presents. Apparently they are all in his desk at work. FFS.. At least this year I was clever, and give his nice presents to him this morning, so he knew what he had to match/live up to.
Anyone else get nothing? Oh, and if you DID get thoughtful and expensive presents.. Don't come here and gloat.Envy

My DH gave me this, this and these

I kid you not.

In fairness he never has been very romantic so should be expected really and have been talking about spicing up our sex life lately. Although I'm a little confused as to who is supposed to eat the jelly thing Wink Hmm

And he is taking me to the cinema tonight Grin

NotShortImFunSized · 14/02/2011 14:18

Meant DP, we aren't married (I wonder why Grin)

namechange100 · 14/02/2011 14:22

NotShort I like your presents! Grin tis interesting re jelly thing! who and how! Grin

I think it is sweet he as he has thought about sexy gifts re spicing things up!

I'd be quite happy with a err some similar stuff, Ive sent DH an email in fact!

BadPoet · 14/02/2011 14:26

YouRmysunshine - yes I am, very very lucky. He's not one for extravagant gestures AT ALL normally, but I was talking about getting one and he just ordered it for me Grin. It's making my life SO much easier now - am reading a lot of books for a couple of courses I'm doing and quite a few available on Kindle.

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 14/02/2011 14:30

Harrassed- that's really shite :(

thanks everyone- nice nhs direct have gotten me an appt for thus evening so hopefully they will pump me full of antibiotics and lovely painkillers.

(d)H has never bought me flowers, he hasn't even text today. I fucking hate him.

Luxmum · 14/02/2011 14:37

Sigh, so most of us get nothing. That's even more depressing than thinking I was the only forgotten one out there. Think I will have to buy my own chocs to cheer myself up. At least then I can be sure of getting the specific nice ones, and not some generic ones. (Which I'd eat, of course, just not with a much unadulterated pleasure..)I dont LIKE Valentines, and wouldn't dream of going out tonight, 'forced' to be romantic. But when your life isnt very romantic, and you are caught up every day, cleaning the house and working 9-6 and feeding kids, it's the small things that I want to be thanked for. Even a cup of coffee and a bacon sandwich would have been nice. A gesture I guess. Sigh. I need to marry a woman next time. I doubt SHE'd forget.

Lady I am so sorry, just read your back through posts I have been through both of those situations in the past 18 months though not in that order or so close together. (not the absess)

(((hugs)))

Whatnamechange · 14/02/2011 14:42

Lady your dh sounds like a dick you are better off without him (I know that doesn't stop the hurt) hope your tooth gets better lots of hugs

namechange100 · 14/02/2011 14:44

Hmm luxum do buy what you want for yourself, I have bought my own flowers, I of course have my other little DS(5) to woo also - who though he might be getting valentines day off school like Christmas holidays!!

bossyboop · 14/02/2011 14:53

We made each other cards and will watch the movie 'Valentines Day' tonight, he is working late so no special tea, the cupboards are bare till tomorrow anyway. I gave him some thorntons chocs that were on special at sainsburys, I dont eat chocolate so he didnt know what to get me, I suggested a bottle of wine or a cheap bottle of perfume from next. He chose to get the perfume. Cant really afford to do too much at this time of year but we are quite soppy all year round really.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/02/2011 14:58

we are swapping our cards and small box of chocolates this evening. We have pre-agreed how we will proceed as one of us always gets it wrong.

Now got to work out how to make chicken soup and homemade cake seem a bit romantic/silly/soppy. Any thoughts? I have heart shaped cutters if that helps.

namechange100 · 14/02/2011 15:07

Oh bad - I'm going to make cupcakes! Yes great idea keep DS busy with the 'kitchen robot' - the hand mixer too!

I am going to make chocolate one, pipe butter cream on top (ala 99 ice cream style) and then top woth love heart style sweets from asda that cost 50p the care calle love txts.

Could use strawberrys and swquirty cream for cake and later!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/02/2011 15:29

lol at later - I have such a bad cough that I would risk doing dh a serious injury.

Have found how to make cupcakes heart shaped:
using scrunch foil

so will make heart shaped cheesy scones too.

namechange100 · 14/02/2011 16:02

V good but I dont have any marbles!

Piccalilli2 · 14/02/2011 16:28

We dont 'do' Valentine's, it's my birthday at the beginning of Feb and wedding anniversary at the end so we're a bit celebrated out. I have got him a card and would have cooked something nice but Monday nights are mental with after-school activities so no time.

nikki1978 · 14/02/2011 16:30

We don't do valentines. We celebrate other things like our anniversary but valentines has no special significance for us tbh. We are pretty mushy most of the time so don't need a particular day to be romantic. I don't think that is boring.

Plus I hate all those cheesy gestures like flowers and candlelit dinners. I am not girly enough maybe but the thought just makes me feel a bit uneasy Grin

SixtyFootDoll · 14/02/2011 16:33

So I went and bought myself some lillies and GandBs black cherry choc.came home Dh had been out and bought the same and looked suitably sheepish. Although nice would have been nice not to have asked for them

melikalikimaka · 14/02/2011 16:33

I gotta text!

mayorofwhoville · 14/02/2011 16:45

Lady - you pour thing with the abcess. Don't use a hot water bottle to soothe your aching face, you might help spread the infection.

bloomingnora · 14/02/2011 17:01

Dh rolled over in his sleep this morning and leant all his weight on his sharp elbow on my bingo wing. So I got a bruise the size of a 50p. Bet you're all jealous now.

Limara · 14/02/2011 17:13

DH came home at lunchtime with a necklace for me it was a complete surprise! Smile

I offered him sex or a sandwich as a valentine pressy, guess what he chose?........

supadupapupascupa · 14/02/2011 17:20

Valentine's used to be a big celebration for us but since getting married it has been replaced by our wedding anniversary.
Having said that, we did swap cards this morning and i'm cooking a lovely meal tonight (i have a bottle of champers left over from xmas)

YouRmysunshine · 14/02/2011 18:14

Well - that was awkward, got DP a card, and he got me nowt :(

happiestblonde · 14/02/2011 18:56

DP took me for an amazing meal Saturday night and we were meant to go to the zoo yesterday but I had food poisoning so he stroked me all day while I groaned. He's cooking something pretty tonight but this nearly didn't happen because 12 red roses were delivered to my office for me today and when I called him to say thankyou they weren't from him. I have NO idea who sent them!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/02/2011 19:57
