.. My darling and generous DH 'forgot' my presents. Apparently they are all in his desk at work. FFS.. At least this year I was clever, and give his nice presents to him this morning, so he knew what he had to match/live up to.
Anyone else get nothing? Oh, and if you DID get thoughtful and expensive presents.. Don't come here and gloat.Envy

I got a Bacon butty Hmm

DandyDan · 14/02/2011 12:09

A card and a spurtle, so we had porridge for breakfast.

QuickLookBusy · 14/02/2011 12:10

Ah Loopy am Envy of your bacon butty!

My DH went away for 4 days yesterday, so there is no romantic meal tonight. He did leave a lovely card and 2 new books, which he had heard me say I wanted to read, so very thoughtful.

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 14/02/2011 12:13

DH got cheese on toast for brekkie and a card, I got a sip of lukewarm latte when I ran into him in town after the schoolrun!

MooMooFarm · 14/02/2011 12:14

DH got me some dvds of old romantic films (I love old films), some chocs and is cooking a meal later.

I can't believe someone on here spent £200 on a valentine present - I thought it was all about 'token' gestures!

DH doesn't get me flowers on valentines, but he does randomly other times which means more IMO anyway, so I don't mind. I used to work in a big office where all the women went nuts on valentines day,all waiting for the next interflora van to arrive in the car park and hoping their bouquet was going to be the biggest Grin

manicbmc · 14/02/2011 12:17

I got a card (sweet), some chocs and a usb Yoda Grin

He got a card (filthy), a teddy bear (sweet) and a box set of Labyrinth/Dark Crystal.

It's out first Valentine Day together.

Geeks and proud! Grin

youremindmeofthebabe · 14/02/2011 12:18

Nothing. We're not really Valentine types here. I did make him this card which only involved me running it through the printerBlush

youremindmeofthebabe · 14/02/2011 12:18

yey for Labyrinth manicGrin

KnittedBreast · 14/02/2011 12:20

Lovecat · 14/02/2011 12:20

ladyofthehouse so, so sorry - get yourself to the dental A&E pronto, that sounds so painful - and then be kind to yourself.

wfrances · 14/02/2011 12:24

im so excited to finaly have some storage space for clutter and out of season stuff.
he reckons thats his valentine pressie to me blood ,sweat and tears.

diddl · 14/02/2011 12:31

Ooh-bacon butty-sounds the best so far tbh!

I have got nothing-husband been working away & arrived home ill at half past eight last night.

I bought him some lovely biscuits which we will share later.

Both in bed until 12 this morning-unfortunately because we both felt ill!

babyicebean · 14/02/2011 12:34

Is something happening today then?

Then I am still waiting for two birthday presents

CrosswordAddict · 14/02/2011 12:37

Ladyofthehouse Sorry to hear about your m/c. Very sad for you.Sad And the abscess sounds awful particularly if your teeth have moved. They will go back into place, mine did. But the pain is indescribable. And it makes you very run-down.
Maybe next Valentine's Day will be better for you, who knows?
Anyway, in the meanwhile look after yourself.
Best wishes painkillers antibiotics and Brew

Frizzbonce · 14/02/2011 12:38

Ladyofthehouse I'm so sorry. What a cheeseknob your ex is. Please be kind to yourself - hot baths, bad books, nice food. And get to a dentist as fast as you can.

(Might you be anaemic after the miscarriage? When you're up to eating - steak, leeks, dark chocolate - iron rich food!)

QBEE · 14/02/2011 12:40

I presented my (d)h with a weekend away as a surprise.
He ran out to the car and came back with a Terry's Chocolate Orange BAR! BAR!!! ffs, not even a pissing proper one. Angry

falsemessageoflethargy · 14/02/2011 12:41

Tell you what it was a mistake telling dh about the MN Poundland cock ring thread Hmm

Shodan · 14/02/2011 12:48

A card.

And the only reason I got it this morning is because he snuck into his wardrobe while I was on the loo to retrieve it and write it out.

But I don't mind- we agreed no presents (he's always generous anyway) and we too are saving for a big holiday next year.

We will be having steak etc for dinner, but will be sharing it with ds1 in celebration of a) his brilliant report from school (the first ever ) and b) that he has worked really hard and got off his stage report.

TobyLerone · 14/02/2011 12:53

I got flowers at the weekend (irises -- my absolute favourite Grin ) and chocolates and a card this morning.

In return, I had to write my boyfriend's card while he was in the bathroom brushing his teeth, and he didn't get his present because I'd ordered it online and it didn't arrive until about an hour ago. He'll get it tonight, along with a lovely dinner.

So it's not just men who are useless Blush

SixtyFootDoll · 14/02/2011 13:04

Nothing. I did say to him not to bother. BUT he went to the shops and bought himself ZuLU on DVD, am hurt that he didn't pick up a bunch of flowerd whilst he was there. We are both now sulking.
Soory to hear about you Lady

ThePosieParker · 14/02/2011 13:06

My DH bought me perfume, but our son sleeps on a lumpy mattress and so it's rather bittersweet, I'd rather have spent that money on things we need....Dairy Box for £3 (on offer in Coop) would have been fine for me.

ThePosieParker · 14/02/2011 13:07

He bought himself aftershave at the same time, so I only got perfume to disguise the gift to himselfHmm/

Pancakeflipper · 14/02/2011 13:07

Nothing from DP but the cat kindly sprayed up the kitchen door so I awoke to an aroma of cat pee and spent the morning washing down the entire kitchen before the school run and going to work.
