Yes, it's from the BC article on 'how to meet other mum's'.
I just had a Hmm moment when I read this, though:

"I met a lot of my mum friends at a nappacino meeting. This is basically a monthly meeting that takes place in my local café for mums who use cloth nappies. We take our babies, grab a cup of coffee and a cake, and have a good chat. I know loads of towns are picking up on this idea, so it's worth looking out for if you're part of the cloth nappy brigade."

Er, so only 'nice' mummies use cloth nappies, then?

OP posts:

I have no idea why you find this offensive. YABU

ScroobiousPip · 14/02/2011 07:23

No, I don't get your reasoning either. Can you explain?

Plumm · 14/02/2011 07:24

I don't find it offensive but am amused by the fact the only thing these women have in common (apart from being mothers) is that they use cloth nappies - who gives a damn? (For the record, I use cloth nappies but am yet to find a nappacino meeting.)

Chulita · 14/02/2011 07:25

I'm offended by your rogue apostrophe and I really can't see how on earth this is offended, YABU

Chulita · 14/02/2011 07:26

Grin offensive even

slightlymad72 · 14/02/2011 07:26

Can't see what is offensive?

Don't be so daft Mamathulu - never heard anything so ridiculous in my life. How can it be offensive if a group of mums with something in common come together for a natter and a drink.

Where does it say only 'nice' mummies use cloth nappies???? Go along to the gathering and perhaps you will find some 'not so nice' mummies there also.

Substitute the words 'cloth nappies' for mums who use X brand of formula milk or Y brand of babygrow. Is it still offensive?

I can't see what you are beefing about. It's a group for women with something in common - ie, a product for babies. They do talk about other things as well as nappies, you know. Time to chill out a bit. If you find this offensive, you have a lot of worrying coming your way in the future.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 14/02/2011 07:33

I give up...

ditavonteesed · 14/02/2011 07:36

I used to love nappucino, went with my friend from post natal group who is still 7 years on one of my closest friends, we were nappy obbsessed (they are so cute) and there were often people selling hand made ones there. Also just another nice excuse to get out of the house and go somewhere new, which is much needed as we all knopw.

ThePosieParker · 14/02/2011 07:39

How ludicrous, I may start a meeting for mothers who use sudocreme.

mrsravelstein · 14/02/2011 07:40

sorry, but i'm with the others, can't imagine what there is to be offended about in this

WaddlingSheep · 14/02/2011 07:44

I don't think it's offensive but who would want to join a nappy group? Confused Hmm

thx1138 · 14/02/2011 07:46

where does it say only 'nice' mummies etc. I am confused. I didn't pick that up at all.

RunAwayWife · 14/02/2011 07:47

Sad yes, stupid yes offensive not really

ChocolateBrownieGuilt · 14/02/2011 07:53

OP why is it offensive?

Do you feel particularly guilty about the landfill issues of disposable nappies then?

I cant see why else you'd have an issue with this.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 14/02/2011 07:55

I think your daft with your assumption about 'nice' mummies use cloth nappies. It is just an example of a group aimed at mums.

But I find "How to meet other mums" a tad patronising. I like meeting PEOPLE and if they happen to be mums then that gives us merely one point of interest.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 14/02/2011 07:56

you're Blush

Morloth · 14/02/2011 07:57

Eh? You must be really bored and quite dim to be offended by this.

Morloth · 14/02/2011 07:58

I would join a sudocreme coffee morningx, love that stuff, its magic I tell you magic.

Teenybitsad · 14/02/2011 07:59

It says nothing about Nice Mummies though.

ThePosieParker · 14/02/2011 08:00

Morloth...me and you against those Vaseline users!!

Teenybitsad · 14/02/2011 08:05

They could all be total cows...the article doesn't suggest they're women worth knowing....there's no reason o assume they're worth meeting.

If it had said

"I wasn't meeting women who I felt were like me..women who were on another level to other Mummies...and then I found Nappucino and they were all really perfect!"

Then that would be offensive.

Wordsonascreen · 14/02/2011 08:07

it doesn't say nice mummies

Is BC babycentre?

If so YABVU

Ariesgirl · 14/02/2011 08:10

Actually those who choose to use cloth nappies are likely to have quite a bit in common. It's a good idea.
